Vegan cyclist filmed in angry exchange with Adelaide motorist

AN INFURIATED Adelaide cyclist has unleashed his rage on a motorist in a bitter exchange captured on video. Who was in the right?

THE endless battle between cyclists and motorists has a new chapter with a prominent vegan activist sharing a video of his fiery road rage exchange with a driver.

In a video uploaded to his “Durianrider” YouTube channel, Harley Johnstone went on a two-minute tirade, in which he accused a motorist of trying to kill him.

The incident occurred when Mr Johnstone was angry after a near-miss with a motorist on Norton Summit in Adelaide on Sunday.

Footage shows the cyclist, wearing a Lycra jersey and shorts promoting veganism, attempting to open the door of the vehicle in question, which had pulled over on the side of the road.

“Kill me, mate. You wanna kill me? I’m here, kill me man,” he screams at the driver.

The driver, who doesn’t raise his voice during the heated exchange, attempts to calm the situation down to no avail.

“My f**king mate got killed in the city by a f**king car driver like you, he f**king hit his head, man,” the cyclist shouts.

“Every f**king day car drivers come too close, one day someone’s gonna f**king kill me. If you want to kill me, I’m f**king here, bro.”

The cyclist claims the car was within touching distance and coming around a blind corner.

The driver once again tries to bring calm to the escalating situation.

“You’ve got to realise that I drive safe around bike riders, I slow right down. You’ve got too much adrenaline running,’ he tells the cyclist.

After a brief moment of awkward silence, the driver’s frustrations appear to come to the surface.

“Settle down, because one day someone is going to f**king clock you,” he said.

The cyclist, who is the ex-boyfriend of fitness vlogger Freelee the Banana Girl, begins shaping up to the driver.

“I’m f**king ready, someone wants to f**king kill me, man. I’m ready to die, bro,” he said.

The driver then asks Mr Johnstone if he is looking to go to jail.

“I’ve already been to jail, bro. I ain’t afraid of going back,” Mr Johnstone responds.

The motorist then pulls back onto the road and drives away.
