Two men arrested over alleged double stabbing in CBD on Friday

Police have charged two men over Friday morning’s incident on Pirie St, where two other people were stabbed.

Two men have been arrested and charged over a double stabbing in the CBD, police say.

Eastern District detectives swooped on the men hours after the alleged altercation – involving a group of people – on Pirie St about 3.30am on Friday.

Police responded to reports of a stabbing and found an 18-year-old man with a stab wound to his hand and a 21-year-old man with a stab wound to his stomach.

Both were treated by paramedics and taken to Royal Adelaide Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The group, three men and two women, fled in a white Toyota Hilux.

A 24-year-old man from Northfield and 18-year-old man from Blair Athol were arrested and charged with aggravated assault causing serious harm and aggravated assault causing harm on Friday night.

Both were refused bail and will appear at Adelaide Magistrates Court on Monday.
