Sephora set to open in Rundle Mall by the end of the year

A worldwide beauty giant announced it was coming to Adelaide but, until now, it has remained tight-lipped about its location.

GLOBAL beauty giant Sephora will spend $1.6 million on its first Adelaide store, which is set to open in Rundle Mall later this year.

Adelaide City Council gave the company approval to open at 90 Rundle Mall at the former Just Jeans shop on Friday.

A job advertisement says more than 25 jobs would be created.

It was given the green light to refurbish the two-storey shop, which includes altering the shopfront and canopy, as well as installing new signage.

There are already stores in Victoria, Queensland and New South Wales, stocking brands including Kora Organics By Miranda Kerr, Make Up For Ever, Shu Uemura and Huda Beauty.

Sephora, founded in Limoges in 1969, is a division of the LVMH Moët Hennessy – Louis Vuitton group.

Sephora has been contacted for comment.

In April, high-end beauty retailer Mecca, founded by Jo Horgan in Melbourne in 1997, opened its 100th outlet in Rundle Mall.
