SA Police arrest 18-year-old ‘toolie’ for punching young woman at Schoolies in Victor Harbor

AN 18-year-old “toolie” has been arrested for allegedly punching a young woman in the face, marring the final night of the Schoolies Festival at Victor Harbor.

AN 18-year-old “toolie” has been arrested for allegedly punching a young woman in the face, marring the final night of the Schoolies Festival at Victor Harbor.

A scuffle broke out inside the festival zone just before 11pm on Saturday when cameras captured the moment the man allegedly hit the 18-year-old woman.

She was knocked off her feet by the blow, Nine News reports.

SA Police quickly arrested the “toolie” and he has been charged with assault and disorderly behaviour.

The young woman was treated by paramedics and is in a stable condition.

Three other “toolies” were arrested during the Schoolies Festival including:

■ A 20-year-old Goolwa man for disorderly behaviour and failure to leave a declared public precinct.

■ A Newton man, 19, for refusing to give his name, resist and hinder police.

■ A Middleton man, 23, arrested for re-entering a declared public precinct and hindering police.

SA Police also arrested s 17-year-old male Schoolie from Modbury North for disorderly behaviour.

Overall, 43 expiation fines were handed out — all for public urination, or possessing and drinking alcohol in a dry zone.

SA Police declared they are “pretty happy” with the overall behaviour of the 2017 schoolies.
