Firefighters have performed a delicate rescue operation to save a man who was pinned by a gazebo on a steep embankment in the Adelaide Hills.

Firefighters have performed a delicate rescue operation to save a man who was pinned by a gazebo on a steep embankment in the Adelaide Hills.

The steel structure collapsed at a Kersbrook home on Robertson Rd about 3pm on Saturday.

Paramedics treated the man while his was trapped before firefighters carefully extracted him from the debris.

Steep terrain made the retrieval difficult.

The 69-year-old was flown to Royal Adelaide Hospital with chest and leg injuries. He is in stable condition.
