Police are appealing for help to find a man who has gone missing in the state’s Mid North after extensive land and air searches failed to find him.

Douglas Ford, 61, was last seen at his neighbour’s home in Gladstone about 10pm on Saturday, August 31.

Police earlier this week launched air and ground searches of Gladstone, the Heysen Trail from Mt Remarkable summit south to Gladstone, as well as Clements Gap Conservation Park and other areas of the Yorke Peninsula but did not locate Mr Ford.

Yesterday, police, SES volunteers and National Parks and Wildlife staff further searched Mt Remarkable, focusing on vehicle access tracks to no avail.

Mr Ford was described as having a medium build, grey hair, blue eyes and was last seen wearing camouflage print pants and T-shirt.

He was believed to be driving a white 2007 Toyota Kluger 4WD, registration plate XPN-603.

Police ask anyone with information about Mr Ford’s whereabouts to call the Police Assistance Line in 131 444.
