Passing motorists discovers major crash on Eyre Peninsula

A man has been killed in a car rollover on the Eyre Peninsula in the early hours of Saturday morning — the crash scene was discovered by a passing motorist.

A man has died after his car rolled over in the state’s Eyre Peninsula this morning.

A motorist came across the Holden Commodore on the Lincoln Hwy, about 10km south of Cowell towards the Cleve turnoff, just after 7am on Saturday.

The sedan driver, a 56-year-old local man, died at the scene. His death is the 64th on SA roads compared to 39 at the same time last year.

Major Crash investigators are examining the circumstances surrounding the crash.

The Lincoln Hwy remains open but motorists are asked to slow down when travelling near emergency services in the area.
