TWO men are fighting for their lives after one was shot and the other hit in the neck with a small axe during a vicious fight in the Adelaide Hills.
Police and paramedics rushed to a house in a Littlehampton cul-de-sac after reports of a shooting just after 5pm on Sunday.
Police say a 24-year-old man was shot in the torso with a rifle while standing in the carport of the Rule Court house.
An older man, 30, was hit in the head and neck with what police described as a “tomahawk” used by the man who had been shot.
Police said both men know each other and that the incident is not believed to be random.
The pair were rushed to the Royal Adelaide Hospital under a convoy of police and ambulances.
The man with neck injuries from the axe is the more serious of the two.
