Salim Mehajer’s glamorous ex speaks out as disgraced former deputy mayor back in court

Hours before Salim Mehajer appeared in court via video link from prison, his glamorous ex-girlfriend took to Instagram to answer some candid questions.

The ex-girlfriend of Salim Mehajer has spoken out as the disgraced former deputy mayor faced court in connection to allegations he breached an AVO issued on her behalf her last year.

Melissa ‘Missy’ Tysoe on Monday evening responded to a series of questions probing her for details on her preferences in men and what she expected from a romantic partner.

Her late-night Instagram Q+A came just hours before her former boyfriend faced Burwood Local Court for a brief appearance via video link where the matter of his AVO was adjourned.

It will now be addressed on July 28, after Mehajer stands trial on June 6 for assaulting, intimidating and choking his ex-partner over the course of more than two years.

He pleaded not guilty to four counts of assault, and single counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, intimidation to cause fear of physical or mental harm and intentionally suffocate with recklessness at the Downing Centre District Court in September.

The 32-year-old joked she was ‘taken for granted’.

Ms Tysoe had been in a relationship with the former Auburn deputy mayor, 35, since 2018, and regularly shared their romance on social media before police applied for an AVO on her behalf in December 2020.

It’s clear the glamorous 32-year-old is happily moving on in her recent Instagram stories however, revealing while she was currently single she was likely to fall head over heels for someone with similar taste in music.

“No one really gets my attention. I’m a complex being. But if someone shares the same taste in music I will start imagining our lives together,” she wrote in response to a question.

She said it wasn’t easy to get her attention.

Missy doesn’t want her partner to have the mental capacity of a rock.

The 32-year-old likes men with “thick muscles”.

In response to another asking if she was single, she wrote: “I am taken. For granted. Jokes, I’m single”.

She also revealed her party days were behind her and now much preferred sober outings.

“Sober dinner dates is where it’s at. Gave that all up years ago. Best thing ever is waking up fresh.”

The medical practice marketing and event co-ordinator also divulged the type of male physique she typically found attractive.

Salim Mehajer and Melissa Tysoe began dating in 2018.

The pair regularly showcased their romance on social media.

Responding to a follower who asked whether she liked “six packs or dad bods”, she detailed while it wasn’t all about appearances, she did prefer someone with “thick muscles”.

“Look I’m not here to lie to anyone, thick muscles. But a mental connection trumps anything else. No point in having a body like the Rock with the mental capacity of well, an actual rock,” she wrote.

Melissa Tysoe was granted an AVO against Salim Mehajer last year.

Asked why she was single, Ms Tysoe explained it likely had something to do with her high expectations.

“Because if it’s not that ‘once in a lifetime, can’t eat, can’t sleep, skin on skin isn’t close enough, don’t want nobody else, best friend, loyal behind your back’ kind of love, then I don’t want it,” she wrote.
