Married At First Sight‘s Ashley Irvin posts subtle swipe at fellow contestant Carly Bowyer
TENSIONS are still running high between some Married At First Sight contestants, with Ashley taking to Instagram to send a very clear message to Carly.
THE claws are still well and truly out between Married At First Sight contestants Ashley Irvin and Carly Bowyer.
Following the series finale on Wednesday, 28-year-old Ashley took to Instagram with a not-so-subtle swipe at castmate Carly.
Posting a group shot, which has received more than 13,000 likes, Ashley made sure the cropped image excluded Carly from the photo, but included every other female contestant.
“Friends for life,” the post read alongside several hashtags including #strongwomen #hoesbeforebros and #yesimsavage.
During the final week of the Channel 9 reality series, viewers witnessed Ashley and her “husband” Troy Delmege part ways at their final commitment ceremony. The departure was on good terms, with both acknowledging their marriage had come to a definite end.
But in the weeks following their breakup, Ashley told viewers she hadn’t heard from Troy since the commitment ceremony.
At the final dinner party on Tuesday, where all contestants sat down for one last free feed before going back to their normal lives, Ashley was left blindsided when Troy walked in with fellow contestant Carly on his arm.
In fact, Ashley only had one word for the situation: “F**k.”
During the dramatic episode, viewers witnessed Ashley’s rage escalate every time Carly came near her.
Following her arrival, Carly made a beeline for Ashley, telling her: “I want to talk to you at some point, OK?”
Ashley immediately snapped back: “Yeah, maybe a little respect or a heads-up wouldn’t go astray.”
Ashley’s post received mixed reviews from fans, with some suggesting the swipe was “savage” and that she was acting like a “spoiled brat” for excluding Carly from the post.
“She cropped Carly out! Nasty!” one person wrote.
“Ash is a spoiled little brat and moody as hell, poor Troy was walking on eggshells.”
“This is savage,” another added.
“Carly was right. Ashley needs to grow up and be mature and this doesn’t show her mature side.”
But others were quick to congratulate Ashley for sticking up for herself.
“You are my type of girl Ashley,” one person posted.
“No Carly! Good for you Ashley keeping it real,” another added.
“You go girl standing up to Carly ... I’m with you all the way.”
During the final dinner party, Carly tried to reason with Ashley — but was only met with hostility.
“Ash, can I please speak to you?” she tried again.
“Nope, you had two weeks to speak to me. Nup,” Ashley said, without even turning around.
“We were mates, were we not? We were friends! You just admitted we were friends! Every chat I had with you, whether to stay or leave! I would never do that to you,” she shouted, as the rest of the group looked on in horror, and Troy shrunk down in his seat.
“Ashley at any point, did you have any feelings towards Troy?” Carly demanded.
When Ashley tried to say yes, Carly shot it down.
“I call absolute bulls**t on that ... You know what? You’re being extremely immature and you need to grow up.”
