Bride’s horror at ‘awful’ wedding cake fail
A British bride was left “very upset” on her big day when the $300 cake she ordered arrived and was an absolute “disaster”.
An outraged mum-of-the-bride has shared shocking photos of her daughter’s lopsided wedding cake being held up by kebab sticks and looking nothing like the order.
Lorraine Gaynor was horrified when the cake arrived for the wedding of daughter Gemma Murdock, who got married on September 25.
Gemma had splashed out $300 to a cake maker from Irvine, in Scotland, and asked for a three-tier creation after seeing their beautiful designs on Facebook, The Sun reports.
But the finished result was a complete and utter disaster that left Gemma “very upset”, her mum revealed.

Outraged, Lorraine took to Facebook to share photos of the couple’s “wedding cake disaster” that showed the true horror of the sad-looking dessert.
“This was supposed to be my daughter’s wedding cake. Craft glitter, kebab sticks and cost a lot of money.”
Photos showed the cake had a purple top layer, cream middle and pink base layer, which looked very messily decorated and like it had slightly melted.
To make matters worse, instead of edible glitter being sprinkled on the cake, the baker had used arts and crafts glitter instead.

Beside it she showed a photo of what Gemma had requested, fully demonstrating the differences between the two.
The shocking post has since gone viral with more than 5000 shares, many from outraged friends and family.
One person wrote: “Oh my god! This is awful! How can someone actually do this to someone on their wedding day! Absolutely disgusting.”
Another added: “No support structure which is why it’s leaning like Pisa. I don’t even know where to start regarding the icing. I bake a fair bit and even I can hammer out a decent cake.”
Lorraine’s best friend Suzanne Pirie added to the comments that the baker admitted she made an “error in judgment at her inability to make a wedding cake”.
However, the huge outcry has caused Lorraine – who lives in Spain – to remove the post, saying it was too upsetting for her daughter.
“I’ve taken my post down from my daughters wedding cake disaster as she’s very upset,” she wrote. “It cant be changed about the cake she and her husband would like to thank everyone for your support and heartfilled messages thankyou they had a fantastic wedding.”
Thankfully the wedding venue came to the rescue, with the hotel’s chef buying a replacement from a local supermarket and adding icing and decorating using Gemma’s flowers.
Some people claimed the cake maker had stolen photos from Pinterest for her business account, which has since been removed.
