Abbie Chatfield has revealed the unbelievable way an ex kept “hooking” her back in for a staggering eight years.

The popular influencer was discussing how former flames can worm their way back into your life after a break-up on her It’s A Lot podcast with a contestant from FBoy Island when she made the jaw-dropping revelation.

Brogan Laura, who appeared in the finale of the Binge reality dating show, was explaining how she’d caught her ex “sexting” someone else but had taken him back when he left a giant bouquet on her doorstep with an elaborate love letter.

Her admission prompted Abbie to share her own experience, stating she was “on and off with an ex for eight years” because he would “hook” her back in with a single act.

“He would bring me Macca’s and I would be like, ‘Wow, oh my God he loves me’,” she said.

“This one time he jumped my balcony and knocked on my door, with a cigarette, and was like ‘Baby, I love you’.”

“I would believe ‘this is it’.”

During the same episode, Brogan also revealed how you can recover deleted texts on an iPhone, a trick she used to expose her ex’s sexting.

Abbie was quick to jump in and ask “how do you find recently deleted messages”, which Brogan claimed was a “new” feature.

To access them, you have to hit the “edit” button inside your messages function, which will prompt a list of different options to appear.

One is “Show Recently Deleted” which you can click to access all conversations deleted in the last 40 days.

“Oh my God,” Abbie states in disbelief, before sharing the “hack” to her Instagram where other women were just as impressed.

“Should definitely not expose this,” one woman joked.

“We cannot let men find out this exists,” another user agreed.

As another declared: “Look out boys. The consequences of your own actions are coming.”

The media-personality, who rose to fame after appearing on the 2019 season of The Bachelor, is known for being candid about her life – recently opening up about the one thing she’ll “never” do again when it comes to her sex life.

Abbie told Stellar magazine her success post-reality show has come at a cost, specially to her love life.

Following a string of relationships with fellow high-profile personalities that have played out in the media – most notably her open relationship with The Bachelorette alum Konrad Bien-Stephens – she told the publication she’ll “never” again utter the name of someone she’s sleeping with.

“I don’t think I would [date publicly again], unless I was with someone for a long time,” she explained in May.

“I’m going to say unless I was engaged, I might change my mind but, right now, I don’t think I have the capacity to be with someone publicly.

“If they’re in this industry, it causes so much sh*t. If they’re not in the industry, they’re getting dragged into my life, which isn’t really fair.

“If I’m sleeping with someone, I will never share their name. I don’t care about rumours, I only care if rumours are true. And I don’t want people to have anything to go off.”

Abbie went on to explain that being constantly watched by the public and the paparazzi when she’s out – especially if it’s with a date – “can be sh*t because there are people I’d like to go on a walk with or have a coffee with”.

“I just don’t want to start rumours. If I have a first date with someone, and someone takes a photo of us, then we have to have the conversation of how we’re going to ‘address it’ in the media,” she added.

“We have to have the conversation, after a first date, of ‘What are we?’. And it kind of sucks the fun out of everything. If you go to the same event, you have to text: ‘Are we going to say hello [to each other in public]?’”
