An Australian influencer is being roasted after she called out a stranger for watching her film a video – with many arguing she’s the one in the wrong.

Former ballerina Brooke McAuley is currently on holiday in Europe, starting her trip in Spain before heading to the UK.

While in London, the 2020 Miss Universe Australia finalist decided to film a “fit check” on the front porch of an expensive home in the city’s famous West End.

However, she later shared the clip on TikTok, stating she was shocked by a discovery she made when she later watched it back.

“Can’t believe I accidentally caught this on camera,” she wrote in text over the footage, which shows her climbing the steps outside someone’s home in Westminster.

“I thought this was just an innocent fit check...

“But I was being watched, eeep!”

The video then zooms in on a woman who appeared at a window behind her, who has pulled back the curtain in order to see what is going on at her front door.

Ms McAuley’s video quickly attracted hundreds of comments, but none were empathetic, pointing out the resident had a right to check what was happening on their property.

“She thought she had the right to privacy on her own stairs, turns out another influencer ended up turning it into a photo shoot,” one wrote.

“Why on earth would you take a photo on someone else’s doorstep? How unbelievably rude and entitled. Wild!! No wonder the owner was looking at you,” another agreed.

Another stressed: “Being watched by the homeowner? That’s not stalking.. that’s someone looking out their window wondering why you’re on their front door steps.”

“Oh how dare a resident look at someone who has taken it upon themselves to stand on HER doorstep of HER house just to make a silly video,” someone else scoffed.

While one claimed: “You’re literally trespassing on someone’s private property, filming yourself and publishing online. Wow.”

Ms McAuley later responded to critics, clarifying she shared the clip because she was “cringing” at her own actions.

“That’s the thing, I didn’t even realise (she was) right there, I’m so embarrassed,” she told one critic.

“Another day, another influencer in the wild,” she clapped back at another.

She also alleged the woman in the window was “the cleaner” in one response.
