A woman missing for more than a month was captured on a house’s security camera asking for clothing and water just days after she disappeared.

Renee, whose last name has not been released, left her home on the Western Highway in Warrenheip, Ballarat about 1.25pm on Thursday, May 30 with her black cat in a carrier.

While the cat was later found left outside a house, the 42-year-old remains missing.

Police have now released footage showing her ringing a doorbell on Buchanan Drive in Lucas, Ballarat at 6am on Sunday, June 2, four days after she disappeared.

The blonde woman could be seen waiting with an empty plastic bottle and her arms wrapped around her torso.

The footage was edited before release and has no sound, but police said she asked for clothing and water.

She appeared to be given a jumper, which she put on, and a large bottle of drink before leaving.

According to the time stamps on the footage, she was at the house for about seven minutes.

Police said Renee’s bank accounts have not been accessed in more than a month.

Investigators do not believe there are any suspicious circumstances, but that Renee, who has a medical condition, may be confused and could be deliberately trying to avoid people.

They are hoping someone can provide information on her whereabouts and are urging anyone with information to contact Ballarat Police Station on (03) 5336 6000.

Renee is described as being caucasian, of slim build, about 170cm tall with blonde hair.

She was last seen wearing a grey hooded jumper.
