Police are hunting for a man and have released images of the alleged attacker after horrifying video shows the moment he used a belt to choke a woman unconscious on a New York street. The footage than shows him dragging her to the ground and raping her between two cars in a sickening attack last week.
The NYPD released photos showing the face of the alleged attacker who was masked in the disturbing footage that emerged Thursday of last week’s attack.
The terrifying ordeal unfolded about 3am on May 1 in the Bronx as the man followed the 45-year-old victim, who was walking on along East 152nd Street and Third Ave, cops said.
Video shows the man pulling out a belt, and flinging it around the woman’s neck.
He drags the victim several feet down to the pavement until she loses consciousness, the shocking video obtained by The Post shows.

The victim was lassoed with a belt and pulled to the ground, “causing her to lose consciousness,” police said.
“The male then dragged the victim between two cars and sexually assaulted her,” the NYPD said in an appeal for the accused.
In the picture, the suspect wears white sweatpants, a blue GAP sweatshirt and a white do-rag, similar to the material covering the man’s face in the shocking video, which showed the alleged attacker had cropped hair.
He also has a backpack and is thought to be about 175cm, police said.
The man fled the scene after the attack and had not been caught by Thursday.
The victim was brought to hospital in a stable condition.
The NYPD’s Special Victims Unit is investigating the violent sexual assault, cops said.
However, the victim has stopped co-operating with authorities, according to police sources.
The heinous crime comes as the department’s crime stats from April revealed that six more rapes were reported last month – 124 – compared to April of 2023 when the department fielded 118 such reports.
