Karl’s son spotted at LAX airport after rumours he wouldn’t be attending his dad’s wedding

Just days out from Karl Stefanovic’s lavish wedding in Mexico, the Today host has received some good news from his teen son.

It was rumoured he might skip their big day, but it looks like Karl Stefanovic’s eldest son Jackson will be attending his father’s wedding to Jasmine Yarbrough after all.

The Today show host and his bride-to-be jetted off to Mexico on the weekend ahead of their lavish wedding on December 8. With them was two of Stefanovic’s children from his marriage with ex-wife Cassandra Thorburn — Jackson, 19 and Ava, 13.

The trip comes after months of speculation that Stefanovic’s eldest son would not be attending the destination wedding after reports of tension with his father following his parents’ divorce.

Earlier this year Jackson altered his Instagram name from “Jackson Stefanovic” to “Jackson Thorburn”.

The bridal group, including Jasmine’s sister Jade, were pictured on their arrival at Los Angeles airport, ahead of heading across the border to tie the knot at San Jose del Cabo, Mexico.

Karl split from his wife of 21 years Cassandra Thorburn in late 2016. The following year, in a tell-all interview with Woman’s Day, Cassandra described Stefanovic as “dead to me” but admitted their three children still had a relationship with their father.

Not long after, Stefanovic began dating shoe designer Jasmine, 34 and in February 2017, he was snapped kissing her aboard a Sydney Harbour cruise, which marked their romance becoming public for the first time.

Stefanovic will tie the knot with Jasmine Yarbrough this weekend at San Jose del Cabo.

Jackson (pictured) was rumoured not to be attending the wedding amid tensions with his father after he split from his mother Cassandra in 2016.

The two sealed their love at a commitment ceremony in March this year at a private house in Palm Beach.

Following the ceremony, Karl told The Sunday Telegraph: “We are very much in love. We clicked right from the start. It’s a commitment ceremony. It was lovely.”

The ceremony was not legally binding and was only witnessed by immediate family and their closest friends.

Speaking exclusively to The Sunday Mail, Stefanovic said the wedding marks the time in his life he puts all controversy and media scrutiny behind him.

“We’re going to get on with life and we’re going to get on with work,” he said.

In a tell-all interview with the interview with Australian Women’s Weekly, Thorburn said she felt “dead to his family and almost anyone from our old life”.

“There has been practically no contact. I feel like we’ve been discarded and disposed of, replaced by a whole new line-up of starters. It has been a real adjustment period for me.”

A spokesman for Stefanovic and his family responded to her comments, calling them “disappointing”.

“We are disappointed Cass would claim such inflammatory suggestions that we have alienated Karl’s children from our family,” the spokesman told TheFIX.

“Nothing could be further from the truth. Karl regularly co parents his children and has his loving family around them.”

The spokesman said the family refuse to keep a running dialogue of the children.

“There are custody and financial matters before the Family Court and Karl has abided by every single one of them and we will not jeopardise it. Family is often compromised when parents go through a painful divorce and we do our best to continue our love and support for the children.”
