Reality TV star Martha Kalifatidis has been praised for sharing an incredibly candid post with fans eight months into her pregnancy.

Reality TV star Martha Kalifatidis has shared she’s at “breaking point” eight months into her pregnancy.

The 34-year-old, who announced in September she was expecting her first child with fiance Michael Brunelli, wrote in a lengthy Instagram caption overnight that she didn’t know “how I can be so up and down”.

“I felt OK yesterday but today I literally feel like I’m dying,” the former Married At First Sight contestant said, adding she thought she might have Covid, only to test negative to the virus.

“Last week I spent 4 days straight in the house on the couch … I have a sore throat, no energy AT ALL. I’m hot and cold. Don’t want to get out of bed.

“I forced myself to get up and go get food just for some momentum, but I couldn’t even get myself out of the car once we arrived.”

Kalifatidis said her due date had been pushed by an extra week, back to March 6.

While she acknowledged “how lucky I am and what a miracle it is to carry a child”, she said, “I feel like I’m at breaking point.”

“Every hour feels like a day I have work commitments looming over my head and can’t help but feel like I’ve completely neglected everything I worked so hard to build,” she wrote.

“I need to vent, I spend all my waking hours sitting alone with my own thoughts which are grim [at the moment] … All I’ve felt for 8 months is suffering. I want to scream!

“I’ve completely lost myself. I feel like I’ll never feel normal or like myself again!

“I know I’m hormonal. What ever that means!!! I feel like a selfish b**ch even writing this but in he hope I’m not alone I’m sharing with you.”

The candid post was immediately flooded with an outpouring of support for the star, who thanked them “for taking the time to reply … sharing your stories … for your words of encouragement”.

Kalifatidis’ pregnancy has been far from smooth sailing; at five weeks, she was diagnosed with hyperemesis gravidarum – a severe form of morning sickness.

“It has been rough, really rough,” she told The Daily Telegraph shortly after announcing her pregnancy.

“It’s like you’ve got gastro, you’re hungover and you’re on a boat. It is getting better, but this is anything but fun.

“When I hit five weeks, all of a sudden I couldn’t do a thing. I was so sick. I wasn’t able to get out of bed, eat or drink anything. Not even one sip of water.

“So I was stuck overseas, severely dehydrated and had to get fluids regularly.”
