TikTok video reveals $10 Aldi lint remover saving people money
Shoppers are raving about the cheap gadget that went on sale last week, claiming it transforms old items and saves them from the bin.
There’s nothing more annoying than when a favourite piece of clothing starts getting those little lint balls all over it.
The pesky balls – also known as pills – are caused by broken fibres on the garment becoming tangled together, leaving clothes looking tatty and old.
While it’s normal wear and tear, often the balls are impossible to get rid of, resulting in owners having no choice but to throw a piece of clothing away.
It is why fashion lovers got very excited recently after uncovering a brilliant fix for the annoying problem.
As as part of last week’s Special Buys Aldi, the Triumph Rechargable Lind Remover was on offer for $10. And after putting it to the test, several shoppers have given it rave reviews.
While lint removers have been around for years, Aldi’s version has proved popular because it is rechargable.

While lint removers are not a new invention, the Aldi device is an electric razor that shaves off pills – a major step up from the classic sticky roller so many of us have used.
Fashion blogger Dani Katralis of @luxeandlemonade told news.com.au that what set Aldi’s electric lint remover apart from others was that it was “super easy” to use.
“This little gadget gives clothes a new life!” she said. “It’s super easy to use and while I know there’s a few similar ones around this one is rechargeable, so no batteries needed.”

After being impressed with its results, Dani created a TikTok video, which has been viewed more than 264,000 times.
In it she explained how she was able to transform an old pair of tracksuit pants that had “really pilled”.
“Spread your fabric on a smooth, flat surface and then gently shave slowly and lightly in a circular or an up and down motion,” she said in the video.
“Use the brush to clean off any excess pill, you’ll see all the excess pill in the lint catcher.”

Dani told news.com.au that the “best part” of the gadget was seeing the lint catcher fill up with excess pill.
“There’s something so satisfying about seeing all the lint that’s been removed,” she said.
“I’ve used on my trackies and jumpers but can also be used on fabric sofas, cushions, blankets. If you find one, grab it.”
People were quick to comment on Dani’s video, praising the gadget as “elite” and a “great idea”.
“I got mine last Thursday from Aldi and I love it,” one person wrote, while another added: “I love these, I’ve had one for over five years! Glad to see they’re catching on.”
Facebook page Addicted To Bargains also shared a review of Aldi’s lint remover, describing it as the “best purchase ever”.
The page revealed Big W also stocked the same item for $20, adding there were also cheaper ones that used batteries available from other stores, such as Daiso.
“You can also just use an old slightly blunt razor, it works the same, just make sure your fabric is pulled taunt,” one person commented on the Addicted To Bargains Facebook page.
“Kmart used to sell them and my lord they’re great!!” another wrote.
One fan described it as a “game changer” while another person said it “earns it keep with saving one item of clothing”.
“It’s the best purchase ever,” another said, adding that being able to rescue tatty clothes saved them money.
