Samsung’s $4000 AirDresser wardrobe will dry clean clothes for you

With a $4000 price tag Samsung’s AirDresser wardrobe isn’t cheap — but how much would you be willing to pay if it did the ironing for you?

It’s a household chore most people dread — so would you consider forking out for a pricey new gadget if it would mean you didn’t have to iron?

Today Samsung has launched its AirDresser wardrobe in Australia and at $3999 it isn’t cheap.

But the high tech wardrobe will steam your clothes, eliminating the need for ironing — a relief for any parents of school-aged kids or those whose work wardrobe consists of suits and shirts.

Using steam and air, the AirDresser promises to remove germs, allergens and dust, while also “refreshing” clothes and sanitising them, reducing the need for washing and dry cleaning.

It steams clothes using its special Heatpump Drying function to dry garments at a low temperature that protects the fabric.

It’s not cheap but Samsung’s new AirDresser promises to do a whole lot of work we previously had to do in the laundry ourselves.

Its Wrinkle Care function smooths out creases on clothes, meaning that the need to iron is virtually none.

And not to worry — the AirDresser uses AI technology to work out the “optimal cycle” they should use to clean and steam your clothes.

Incredibly, the gadget doesn’t need to be attached to plumbing or fixed to a wall — and runs quietly.

Samsung Australia’s head of consumer electronics Jeremy Senior said the AirDresser’s would not only look after you clothes, but it would sanitise them too.

It’s designed to fit seamlessly in with your bedroom decor.

“With AirDresser, we’re helping Australians to quickly and easily refresh and care for their clothes while also enjoying the peace of mind that comes with the elimination of dust and odours,” he said.

“Whether due to issues of poor air quality or a heightened awareness of everyday hygiene measures, people are more conscious of the spread of odours and germs than ever before, which is why AirDresser is so relevant to many Australians.”

The AirDresser is approved by the National Asthma Council Australia’s Sensitive Choice program.

It doesn’t have to be just used on clothes either and you can put items like leather shoes or toys in to be sanitised.
