Kmart shoppers lose it over affordable new kitchen items
Kmart customers are raving about a new kitchen item that recently hit stores with many claiming they “need this in their lives”.
Kmart has done it again.
Only this week customers went wild for these $20 mules and now the Aussie retailer has caused a frenzy over its new $18 kitchen item — a Cream Ceramic Saucepan.
It also comes with a matching Cream Ceramic Casserole for $23.
“Anyone who knows me knows I needed these in my life,” Aussie blogger Jessica Mary posted on Instagram alongside a snap of the new saucepan.
“Omg Kmart, not again,” another customer wrote.
A Kmart spokesperson told news.com.au the items hit stores in mid-August and have “sold incredibly well” across all five pieces in the range, including the 24cm, 28cm and 32cm frypans, 20cm saucepan and 24cm casserole.
“We think they’re so popular due to the great quality and price,” the spokesperson said.
“As well as the cream colour being so on trend with the smooth ceramic non-stick coating and the rise in popularity of cooking at home.”
When the retailer shared a post of the new items on its Instagram page on Friday it attracted more than 13,500 ‘likes’ with hundreds of comments from shoppers eager to nab the items.
“Lucky we’re travelling. I’d be on my way to the Mart now,” one shopper wrote.
“Froth (over) this,” said another.
“If these aren’t the nicest pots I’ve ever seen,” said a third, while a fourth added: “I think I need these.”
Some have already claimed the pots have sold out at their local store.
“Just wasted my time choosing and putting products in my cart and they were ALL SOLD OUT,” one woman wrote.
“Probably sold out online like 100 per cent of everything at the moment hope the stores are full when open,” another shopper said.
The “trendy” pots have “two layer easy clean ceramic coating for improved non-stick cooking”, according to their product description, and “tempered glass lid with silicone rim, side drainage and steam vent”.
They also feature a soft touch wood look bakelite handle with a hole.
The items are suitable for use on electric, gas, ceramic and halogen and induction cooktops and should be cleaned according to given instructions.
