The mum-of-four and AFL WAG opened up on her radio show about “newly” contracting a common skin condition, describing it as “awful”.

Rebecca Judd has just revealed she’s contracted a lifelong skin condition.

Speaking on KIIS FM’s 3pm Pick-Up, the 37-year-old said she recently started getting cold sores, though didn’t disclose how she had picked up the infection, which is medically known as herpes simplex (HSV).

The mum-of-four, who is married to ex-Eagles and Blues AFL star Chris Judd and is currently at home with her family under Melbourne’s coronavirus stage 4 lockdowns, described the painful flare-ups as “awful”.

“I’m a newly cold sore person and it’s awful,” Bec told her radio co-hosts Monty and Yumi Stynes.

There are two strains of the virus, HSV-1 which primarily causes oral herpes, and displays itself as cold sores and blisters around the mouth, and HSV-2 which primarily causes genital herpes, according to Health Line.

Cold sores are small blister-like spots that appear in or around the outside of the mouth and when present are highly contagious.

The virus is passed on mainly through direct contact such as kissing, but sharing items such as a drinks bottle or a towel can also result in transmission.

There’s currently no cure for cold sores.

Bec hasn’t shared any details of what sparks her flare-ups, but stress can be a huge factor. Tiredness, being unwell and strong sunlight can also trigger HSV.

During lockdown, the businesswoman who co-owns fitness apparel brand Jaggad, has been keeping busy with home workouts and spending time with her young kids.

Recently Bec showed off her athletic figure in a bikini as she posed poolside at her $7.3 million Brighton mansion.

She opted for an apricot-coloured two-piece with a pair of white cat eye sunglasses as she was seen holding a 50+ sunscreen tube.

The post appeared to be sponsored with the caption, “Sunny Days + @theskincarecompany Dry Touch SPF50”.

Lockdown hasn’t been plain sailing for the busy working mum as she took to Instagram at the start of September to complain about Melbourne’s strict lockdown measures, causing one follower to dub her “the new Karen from Brighton”.

In the quickly deleted clip, Bec took a swipe at Premier Daniel Andrews while plugging a product for her children.

“It seems Dictator Dan will be locking Victorians in our homes even longer,” she captioned the video showcasing a cubby house from The Little Cardboard Co.

Despite removing the video, it drew criticism from Melburnians who called her “tone deaf” for complaining despite her luxurious lifestyle.

She’s brushed off the backlash to continue working from inside her luxury home, recently revealing she swears by Klorane Detox Dry Shampoo in its zingy new “aquatic mint” fragrance.

“It is especially refreshing post-workout and of course does all the things we know, love and expect from @kloraneau dry shampoos; cleanses, adds volume and helps to style while detoxifying the scalp at the same time,” she said.

She went on to say she loved the “invisible finish” of this dry shampoo and said it has been great “in iso” as she’s only needed to wash her hair twice.
