Covid queue website dings when vaccine appointments are available
A Reddit user created the website after they “struggled” to book a vaccine amid growing frustration among young people desperate to get jabbed.
A new website has been created to make booking your Covid-19 vaccination even easier, amid growing frustration among young people who say they are struggling to get vaccine appointments.
The website covidqueue.com has a bell that sounds when an appointment is available near you in Sydney.
The website was shared by Fraser Hemphill, its creator, on Sunday morning and appears to be currently down – too many users, perhaps?
“I struggled to book a vaccine, so I made a site that DINGS where there are vaccine bookings available (Sydney),” they wrote.
All users need to do is click ‘Get in the line’ and wait for appointments to become available.
“It’s difficult to book a Covid vaccination in Sydney right now, so this website will update you when there are slots available,” the website reads.

“You should log in to either the RPA Hospital, St Vincent Hospital or Sydney Olympic Hub site ahead of time, so you will be ready to book when an appointment becomes available.”
The NSW government says the country’s low vaccination rate is to blame for Sydney current outbreak, which has seen the highly infectious Delta strain continue to spread more than a month after lockdown restrictions were first introduced.
NSW Chief Health Officer Kerry Chant and Premier Gladys Berejiklian are now pushing for higher vaccination rates so that lockdown measures can lift.
NSW has begun rolling out walk-in Covid-19 vaccination clinics in Sydney, where people can get jabbed with the AstraZeneca version of the vaccine.

The service is free and so far available in select locations in Sydney’s west and southwest.
Most of the walk-in clinics will accept anyone who is aged over 18.
Last week Ms Berejiklian also announced that 40,000 Pfizer doses would be redistributed from rural and regional areas in order to vaccinate senior students across eight LGAs of concern in western and southwestern Sydney.
On Sunday NSW recorded 239 new cases of coronavirus, with health officials now concerned about the number of young residents who are driving the state’s outbreak.
NSW Health also administered 21,342 Covid-19 vaccines in the past 24 hours to 8pm on Saturday, including 8505 at the vaccination centre at Sydney Olympic Park.
But frustration is reportedly growing among younger NSW residents about not being able to access vaccines despite being repeatedly told to get the jab.
Ms Berejiklian reiterated the health advice for young people was that both the Pfizer and AstraZeneca jabs were safe.
“The NSW government always follows the advice of the federal health authorities,” Ms Berejiklian said.
“Health advice in NSW is that if you are over 18, it is safe to get either vaccine. That is a strong health advice.”
Ms Berejiklian was asked if she was aware of anecdotal reports of GPs telling NSW residents in their 20s and 30s to wait for the Pfizer immunisation.
“I‘d be concerned if that was the case,” Ms Berejiklian said.
“But that is the advice provided to NSW and greater Sydney. Greater Sydney is going through an outbreak and that is the best health advice. If people have concerns, speak to your GP.”
