A photo of a bucket of potatoes as you’ve “never seen before” has set the internet alight due to its strange likeness to an X-rated body part.

An Australian shopper shared the snap in the Aldi Mums Facebook group after the fresh grocery item began sprouting a “strange” white coat.

But while many determined the “bizarre” fluff, which contained a number of white dots, appeared to be the work of nesting insect – others noticed the snap looked like something else entirely.

All hell broke loose when the shopper shared the seemingly innocent photos on Monday, writing: “Bought the brushed potatoes on sat and opened my usual container for storing potatoes and they look like this. Any ideas as I’ve never seen this before.”

Very quickly the post attracted a huge amount of attention as users pointed out the potatoes looked strikingly similar to male genitals.

“Glad I’m not alone having a dirty mind,” one wrote.

“I thought this was one of my unhinged mum groups,” another joked.

As someone else remarked: “The second photo definitely looks like skin and the background look like a stomach with some hair.”

“Looks like a whole lot of hairy,” someone else said, alongside a football and basketball emoji.

“That my friend is called a dangle berry,” one teased.

“I wont even comment what I thought these were but definitely didn’t think potatoes,” one declared.

Others were more helpful, suggesting a bug was likely behind the weird fur on the woman’s newly purchased potatoes.

“Is it some sort of spiders nest?” one asked.

“So so strange. Never seen before,” another wrote.

“Mould, get rid of the bucket,” someone else stated.

Others said the images made their “skin crawl” and insisted she needed to eliminate the “disgusting” find.

“That is going to give me nightmares for weeks,” one said.

“What on earth is that?” another asked.

As one simply shared: “Yuck.”
