Fast food chain’s twist on iconic Aussie snack
Two renowned Australian food brands have collaborated to unveil a new fast food item that’s winning fans.
A collaboration between a fast-food chain and an iconic Aussie snack has been praised as the “collab of the century”.
The widely known chicken outlet Red Rooster and beloved pastry brand Four‘N Twenty have teamed up to introduce a new menu addition - the chicken and gravy pie - and so far it’s been a hit.
Sydney TikTok food reviewers, Tay and Josh, also know by their handle “yesfromus”, shared their first few bites with their online audience.
“It does make sense, the perfect collaboration, chicken and pie. I usually put in tomato sauce, but I think we should just go in as intended,” Tay said.
In the video the pair, who have more than 20,000 followers, cheers with their pastry treats before taking a big first bite.
“Oh my goodness, the mix is so nice,” Josh said.
“It is a big yes from us,” Tay adds.
Many of the pair’s followers agreed with their food review.
“Why don’t they sell them in supermarkets they’re unreal,” one commented.
“I’m obsessed with chicken pot pies. They have peas and carrots and potatoes with the chicken and gravy. It’s a lovely memory from childhood,” a second wrote.
Red Rooster’s director of marketing, Ashley Hughes said customers would be “mad” to not grab a chicken pie this footy season.
“Red’s chicken and gravy pie brings together our signature roast chicken and gravy flavours with the perfect golden pastry goodness of a Four’N Twenty pie crust,” she said.
“It comes at the perfect time, just in time for winter and footy”.
The limited-time Red Rooster x Four ‘N Twenty Chicken & Gravy pie is available from May 15, exclusively at Red Rooster restaurants nationwide.
You can buy a pie through Drive Thru, Dine In, Take Away, Click & Collect, and Delivery options.
