Macca’s ‘30 days of deals’ is back with items for as little as $1

Last time the fast-food giant had this deal, there were hungry Aussies queued outside Macca’s restaurants around the country. Now it’s back.

McDonald’s Australia has announced its $1 Big Mac deal is back, two years after it sparked a frenzy among burger lovers.

In 2019 the fast-food giant saw chaotic scenes outside its restaurants around the country when it practically gave away the most iconic Macca’s burger, selling it for $1 as part of a month long celebration of different deals and offers.

Now the ‘30 days of deals’ is back.

As of November 1, customers can nab a Big Mac, fries and apple pies for a gold coin as part of the chain’s ‘deal a day’ in restaurants across Australia.

Every day a different item will be on offer, kicking off with the popular Big Mac for a dollar deal.

Throughout the month Macca’s fans will be able to snag Quarter Pounders, Double Cheeseburgers and McFlurrys for $2, alongside shakes, sundaes and McNuggets.

Other standouts deals include a $5 McChicken meal and cheeseburger, and a $6 Big Mac meal and cheeseburger deal.

While some days, customers will score as much as 40 per cent off their bill.

To redeem the promotion, customers need to order directly through the mymacca’s app and select the discount under “My Rewards”.

When the offer hit restaurants across the country back in 2019, Macca’s customers (understandably) caused chaotic scenes as they tried to nab the $1 Big Mac offer.

Many took to social media to skip out of the office at lunch for a “Macca’s run”.

“Can you please take a long lunch break and bring me three please?” one wrote at the time, tagging their colleague.

McHappy Day fundraising is also set to kick off in stores across the country with the fast food chain selling its popular Silly Socks.

Inspired by the much-loved McDonaldland characters, this year’s Silly Socks are available in three exclusive designs – Ronald, Grimace and Hamburglar.

The designs mark 30 years of McHappy Day in Australia on Saturday, November 13, with 100 per cent of profits being donated to Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC).

“Our Silly Socks look good, feel good and do good, with all profits going towards helping seriously ill children and their families,” Amanda Nakad, marketing director at McDonald’s Australia, said.

“We are calling on Aussies to purchase a pair of socks and show their support for Ronald McDonald House Charities this McHappy Day.”

Macca’s have also dropped a limited edition pair of Birdie Silly Socks which are available exclusively at Amazon with all profits going towards Ronald McDonald House Charities.

Over the past 30 years, McHappy Day has raised more than $56 million for Ronald McDonald House Charities.

The launch of the Silly Socks follows the announcement of McHappy Day 2021 ambassador, Eva Longoria.

She follows in the footsteps of Eva Mendes, who was the ambassador last year and Katie Holmes in 2019.

Ronald McDonald, Grimace and Hamburglar Silly Socks are available to purchase for $5 from all McDonald’s restaurants nationwide or via McDelivery.
