Coles, Woolies selling Hass avocados for just $1
It’s one of the most in-demand products and now it’s been significantly reduced to just $1, making it the lowest price seen in a decade.
The price of avocados has dramatically dropped with Coles and Woolies selling the popular fruit for just $1.
That’s right – though usually sold for around $3.50, it has now been reduced significantly, and people are excited.
“I bought a couple. Don’t think I’ve ever seen avos at this price. Lunch sorted,” one person tweeted.

The good news is, you can now make smashed avocado without the guilt of knowing how much you spent.
“We are entering the peak of the Queensland Hass avocado season so there’s an abundance of great quality avos in our stores at great prices,” Mark Watson, Coles’ senior category manager of ripened fruit told news.com.au.
“Currently Hass avocados are just $1 in all Coles supermarkets nationally.”
Woolies is also selling the fruit for the same price across all its stores.
“Thanks to a great growing season, Australian Hass avocados are in abundance and fantastic quality,” Woolworths avocado category manager, Jessica Loader said.

“Right now customers across Australia can enjoy some of the lowest avocado prices we’ve seen in the last decade.
“Avocados are one of our most popular items and we expect lots of households are making the most of this bumper harvest with family favourites like guacamole and smashed avo on toast.”
It also means Millennials “can now afford a mortgage”.
Rememberthat story, when a KPMG partner and The Australian columnist Bernard Salt wrote in October 2016 that “the evils of hipster cafes” were contributing to the woes of young people struggling to buy a first home.
Well, a lot of young people took offence to it.

“I have seen young people order smashed avocado with crumbed feta on five-grain toasted bread at $22 a pop and more,” he wrote at the time.
But the reference has made a comeback with a Melbourne doctor, Ryan Storr tweeting: “What was that comment about avocados and Millennials and buying houses? Coles this morning, $1.”
It sparked a barrage of comments and memes with one person writing, “Think how much spare cash you can save this week!”

“A house deposit lol,” Dr Ryan responded.
“Now you have no excuse but to be Tim Gurner by this time next week. It’s never about the access to familial economic capital. It’s only ever been about the price of avo,” another person added.
Others joked: “HOUSES FOR EVERYONE!”
If you want to get your hands on the cheap avocados, you’d better be quick as the $1 offer ends on Thursday at close of business.
