Coles launched its new Christmas range – with 151 new products in the supermarket including a family favourite with a modern twist.

Coles launches Christmas range for 2022

One major supermarket has unveiled its 2022 Christmas range – with one key item sharing the same main ingredient as your favourite gin.

Coles has announced its new festive range featuring 151 new own brand and exclusive products in the supermarket and 106 additions to Liquorland.

Arguably one of the standout items is its Christmas juniper berry seasoned ham made from 100 per cent Australian sow stall-free pork.

Juniper berry is the main ingredient in making gin, and is also often featured in Christmas wreaths.

The cured ham is said to be perfect straight from the fridge or ready to be warmed through in the oven.

With a survey of 2100 Coles customers revealing two out of three will spend the big day entertaining at home, Coles is aiming to be a one-stop shop.

There are also 25 vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free products including I’m Free From Chocolate Pudding and a Nature’s Kitchen plant-based Christmas ham style roast.

On the dessert front, Coles has created a novelty Santa cheesecake with a biscuit base, vanilla cheesecake and raspberry topping, decorated with a chocolate Santa belt and produced in Australia.

There is a new gingerbread decorating kit and a hand-decorated Christmas tree-shaped fudge brownie.

Coles ambassador and Michelin award-winning chef Curtis Stone said this year’s range is focused on providing the very best value on locally sourced fresh produce.

“We know that this Christmas more than ever customers will want to have the very best quality products for their family and friends, while also making their household budgets go further,” Curtis said.

“Our festive smoked juniper ham embodies the flavours of Christmas; it’s made from 100 per cent Australian pork and delicious served warm or thinly sliced cold. All of our fresh meat is 100 per cent Australian and we are proud that our range of fresh turkeys have never been frozen.

“Our prawns are responsibly sourced and we can assure customers they will be in abundance and at our very best price when customers are wanting to enjoy them most.”

The supermarket has also pledged to have great value on Aussie Christmas favourites like Coles Beechwood Half Leg and Full Leg Ham, which is the same price as 2021.

With the cost-of-living concerns, this week Coles dropped the price on 150 products and locked in a further 1100 until the end of January.

Coles and Liquorland customers will also be able to get their hands on Schott Zwiesel “Pure” Tritan crystalline glassware for free – an offer that began on September 21.

Another mission from Coles this Christmas is to work on reducing waste by making packaging more sustainable.

More than 300,000 pieces of select Christmas packaging will carry the

‘Return to store’ Australian Recycling Label – this includes wine bottles made out of PET plastic.

Giftwrap has also been made completely recyclable, with Coles also ditching plastic in bonbons for the second year in a row.

Christmas products are slowly being introduced at Coles, though many are not on shelves yet.
