Cadbury announce Caramilk Bunnies for Easter

Just when it seemed the buzz around Cadbury Caramilk had died down, the confectionary giant has gone and announced it is releasing a new take on the chocolate hybrid.

Cadbury Australia have rolled out three new 125g chocolate bunnies to celebrate Easter 2021 – Caramilk, Cherry Ripe and Mint Chip.

Naturally, fans of the caramelised white chocolate are delighted, sharing snaps of the coveted item that is now being found in Coles and Woolworths supermarkets, priced at $5.50.

“No stranger to cult-level status, Cadbury Caramilk is arriving in a multitude of formats this Easter,” a spokesperson said.

As well as the first-ever Caramilk bunny, Cadbury are adding a 150g Caramilk Gift Box to its Easter offerings, stating it is “tipped to be a crowd pleaser”.

While the Easter festivities are still just over four weeks away, it hasn’t stopped shoppers from snapping up the chockie and digging straight in.

One excited fan shared a snap of a box full at a Coles in Victoria alerting others to the fact “Caramilk bunny wabbits” were on shelves.

“That is going to be evil!!!!” one wrote alongside a winky face.

“Gonna be a fat Easter,” another said.

While one woman named Sharon said: “Oh stop, this can’t be true.”

Yes it is Sharon, dreams really do come true.

Hype surrounding the unique chocolate bar dates back to 1994 when it was discontinued in 1994.

It arrived back in Australian supermarkets for a limited run in early 2018, however blocks of the precious golden chocolate were hard to come by.

Soon it emerged savvy shoppers were buying Caramilk in bulk, selling it on eBay for up to 10 times the recommended retail price.

When the limited run came to an end, Christian Hull launched a petition to make the white chocolate caramel block “a permanent thing”, gathering more than 18,000 signatures and resulting in Cadbury finally taking action.

Caramilk became a permanent fixture in late 2019 and since then has been released in a variety of different ways including as a Twirl bar, in Philadelphia cheese and most recently as cooking chips.
