Australians are raving about a new product at Aldi, labelling the discount supermarket’s latest launch the “best yet”.

The German retailer, beloved for its affordable offerings – particularly during the current cost of living crisis, recently released a new variation of its Choceur chocolate blocks: a “hazelnut praline”.

Aldi’s $3.79 grocery item, which features a soft hazelnut praline centre coated in milk chocolate, has only just hit shelves and already shoppers have dubbed it an “elite” new flavour.

Taking to TikTok, several delighted Aussies have shared their love for the chocolate bar, claiming the sugary treat “tastes like Nutella”.

“This could be the best item at Aldi,” said one Melbourne woman, who posts under the handle @mishmiiish, on social media.

“This is my dream combination, oh my God, it’s amazing.

“Wow. If you love Nutella, that hazelnut flavour, you have to try this.”

Melbourne food blogger @AngeEats shared a similar sentiment, describing it as “Nutella chocolate”.

“Woah, seriously smooth, super creamy, loaded with praline... my reaction says it all,” he declared in a video.

“You need to try it.”

Meanwhile one food reviewer described it as a “dupe” for the Whittaker’s Hazella block which launched to much fanfare in Australia in October.

“Hazella Chocolate Dupe at Aldi. This is soooo good,” @nectoriouspapi declared in another clip.

The comments section on the viral clips were equally as positive, with many agreeing the block was “so good”.

“Aldi choc slaps,” one stated.

“This is 10/10,” someone else mused.

As one declared: “Tried this recently, it’s soooo good.”

Others who hadn’t yet got their hands on the block revealed they were heading into stores to try it.

“OMG YUM, I need to try,” one revealed.

“Running to Aldi,” someone else agreed.

It’s not the first time Aldi’s Choceur range has gone viral, with Aussies previously declaring the selection the “best chocolate” in the country.

The affordable 185g blocks took the top spot in consumer group Canstar’s Most Satisfied Customer Awards in 2021.

At the time Lindt came in at second place, with Cadbury at third spot and Darrell Lea fourth. Nestle secured the fifth spot and Coles ranked at sixth position.
