Emily Skye has been praised for “keeping it real” — after sharing a confronting clip showing her shocking body “struggles” with fans.

Emily Skye shares brutally honest video

Australian fitness star Emily Skye has been praised by fans for sharing a brutally honest video about her body struggles.

The 34-year-old Gold Coast fitness blogger took to her Instagram to share an emotional clip with her 2.5 million followers of her severely bloated stomach, saying her symptoms were often so severe she feels “pregnant again”.

Emily begins the video facing the camera front on in a matching gym pants and crop top set.

But when she turns to the side, she reveals a rounded out tummy that left fans shocked.

“It’s so hard to keep my tummy in! That time of the month is never fun,” Emily began in her lengthy post that accompanied the clip.

‘I ACTUALLY FEEL PREGNANT’

“Bloating, fluid retention, cramps, lethargy, nausea, mood swings etc — they’re all common symptoms of being a woman and having your monthly. I actually feel pregnant again!”

Fans were in disbelief over the confronting clip, agreeing her bloating did make it appear she had a blooming baby bump.

“Omg, I thought you were pregnant again!” one surprised fan wrote.

“First glance I thought this was a pregnancy announcement,” someone else said.

“U sure you are not pregnant again?” another asked.

However many commended Emily for sharing something so “relatable”.

“I love the fact that u keep it real and not afraid too. Motivational and respect,” one delighted fan wrote.

“This is me all the time, I thought I was the only one,” another said.

While one fan wrote: “I just wanted to say you’re awesome and I love that you keep a real spin on pregnancy and your life.”

Emily — who gave birth to daughter Mia 17 months ago — also described her feelings around “struggling” to regain her pre-baby body back, despite a committed fitness regimen.

“Ever since I was pregnant with Mia I’ve found it really hard to keep my tummy ‘in’ which to be honest with you is something I never imagined I’d be struggling with at almost 17 months post-partum,” she detailed.

‘LET’S STOP BEATING OURSELVES UP’

Despite her raw revelations, she called on her fans and fellow mums to stop being so hard on themselves.

She said: “Let’s stop beating ourselves up and comparing ourselves and just appreciate and focus on the things we do have.

“I have a beautiful family and I’m healthy & fit and I’m so grateful for that.. bloating and retention isn’t fun but it’s also no big deal either.”

LOVES HER ‘WRINKLY TUMMY SKIN’

The mum-of-one is no stranger to opening up about her body and struggles on Instagram, recently sharing a “real life” photo with her fans that illustrated how in some positions you can clearly see her “wrinkly tummy skin”, while in others it’s all about her abs.

“Both of these photos are ‘real life’ — just because you take a ‘nice’ photo with good posture or good lighting doesn’t mean it’s not real life — it’s just a part of yourself or your life that you’ve chosen to show,” Skye said alongside the comparison images.

“So here are a couple of pics showing me standing without my wrinkly tummy skin visible and with it visible.”

Last year, she opened up about receiving negative messages from “haters” telling her she should edit her loose belly skin and stretchmarks out of the snaps she shared — the images were 12 months after she gave birth to Mia.

“Some people would say things like, ‘You still got skin on your belly, you should Photoshop that out’, or comment about my stretchmarks,” she told news.com.au at the time.
