A $10 tank top from a budget retailer has been compared to one from a designer brand with a price tag 66 times more than the “dupe”.

Kmart’s Sleeveless Rib Embroidery Tank comes in black or white with a swirl design in the opposite colour in the middle, available in sizes six to 20.

Popular social media page Kmart Insider compared the Kmart tank top to a $665 version from Loewe, that featured a very similar design.

It was also compared to a $150 version from C&M and Seed’s $39.95 version.

Social media users had strong opinions on whether they would fork out hundreds of dollars for the designer version or simply purchase the Kmart product.

“Mine arrived today! So excited to try,” one social media user commented.

Another joked: “$10 or $665 ummmm idk which one I would choose.”

“$665 for a singlet! That is absolute madness,” one declared.

Another added: “I got the white, and I definitely want the black too.”

“The Kmart ladies look happier wearing them because they didn’t waste most of their paycheck,” another added.

A Kmart spokesperson told news.com.au that the tank is already a fan favourite.

“Our Sleeveless Rib Embroidery Tank launched recently and is already a favourite among our customers,” the spokesperson said.

“At Kmart we believe that style and quality should be accessible to everyone, which is why we are committed to offering on-trend products at our famous everyday low prices.”

It comes after Zain Trigg was called a “genius” after revealing he was using Kmart’s $15 mini rice cooker for something other than its intended use – instead, he was using it to make a hot pot.

“$15 rice cookers from Kmart – not bad for little single hot pots,” Zain said, showing his creation.

He explained that it was perfect for him to have a little movie night, explaining he purchased the smaller ones that were a little more expensive than a regular rice cooker.

Social media users were incredibly impressed with Zain’s ingenious way of using the rice cooker.

“Broooooo that’s genius!!! To Kmart I go,” one social media user praised.

Another less impressed customer said: “I’ve bought two of the Kmart ones and both broke. One even broke after like four uses.”

The device has proved quite popular, according to a Kmart spokesperson.

“Our customers appreciate the Mini Rice Cooker for its convenience and compact size, making it perfect for small kitchens or single servings. Its ease of use, everyday low price, and quick cooking time also make this product a favourite for those with busy lifestyles,” the spokesperson told news.com.au.

“The design of the Kmart Mini Rice Cooker was inspired by the need for a simple, efficient, and space-saving kitchen appliance.

“This product aims to provide a practical solution for individuals or small households who want to enjoy perfectly cooked rice without the hassle of using a larger, more complex cooker.

“The Mini Rice Cooker is the perfect addition to all home kitchens due to its versatility and convenience. It is ideal for small portions, easy to store, and simplifies the cooking process, making it a must-have for anyone looking to prepare quick and delicious meals with minimal effort.”
