The Iconic Runway 2022: Bold fashion choice steals the show
One of Australia’s most-loved influencers stepped out wearing a stunning cut-out dress, as speculation swirls surrounding her relationship.
The Iconic just hosted its sixth annual runway show, revealing a controversial fashion item is tipped to be this summer’s hot product.
The Australian fashion e-tailer held a star-studded bash at The Venue in Sydney’s Alexandria to celebrate the start of the Spring/Summer 2022 season.
An array of well-known models strutted their stuff in front of a crowd of familiar faces, including The Bachelor’s Laura Byrne and Matthew Johnson, TikTok sensation Millie Ford and Cameron Robbie – the younger brother of Hollywood actress Margot Robbie.
Beauty influencer Sammy Robinson was also at the glitzy event wearing a gorgeous green dress that had cut-outs across her midriff.
The 26-year-old – who is rumoured to have split with her on again, off again boyfriend Jordan Simi – finished her look with a pair of chic flat sandals in a popular nude colour.
Speculation recently swirled about Sammy’s relationship status after Jordan shared a video of himself in the back of a car with an unknown French woman, captioned: “French kiss.”
The clip was widely circulated after it was shared on TikTok by Outspoken the Podcast, who asked: “WTF is going on? Where is our Queen Sammy.”
Fans were quick to jump on board, commenting on the “weird” clip, and remarking how “on and off” the pair are.
Cameron Robbie also posed on the black carpet, looking effortlessly cool in his outfit. The model opted for a black pair of jeans with oversized pocket paired with a white T-shirt and a black shirt worn loosely over the top.
He finished with a shoulder bag strapped across his body and chunky black boots.
Make-up artist and beauty podcast host Rowi Singh also attended, wearing a stunning pink dress with matching heels that tied up her legs.
Former Bachelor star Bella Varelis posed wearing a flowy white summer dress with a cut-out across her midriff.
Guests at the glamorous event watched a 30-minute runway show featuring a diverse range of models – including Sudanese/Australian supermodel Duckie Thot, professional boxer Harry Garside and social media star Jimmy Jan.
Jimmy has amassed a loyal following documenting his life as a disabled medical student, while Harry is well-known as “the boxer of the 21st century” who challenges gender stereotypes.
Among the many colourful looks on the catwalk was a standout fashion item worn by almost every model – Crocs.
The boating shoe, made from a light resin material, has soared in popularity recently as people “crave comfort” post-lockdown.
As well as the classic shoes – which come in a wide variety of colours – a new platform version has recently emerged, cementing its status as the new “must-have” wardrobe item.
An NFT of the show, which was a mix of virtual and reality, is now up for auction with proceeds going to Thread Together.
