Something going terribly wrong on a red carpet is every celebrity’s worst nightmare – so spare a thought for the Aussie stars about to step out for the Dally M Awards tonight.

The WAGs of NRL’s best footy stars will have been preparing their outfit for weeks, if not months, ahead of the ceremony in Sydney on Wednesday, with every detail meticulously planned in advance.

But despite being red carpet ready, nothing can stop things going awry on the night, as some of Australia’s most well-known sporting wives can attest.

Monisha Lew-Fatt, the wife of Canberra Raiders player Jack Wighton, fell foul to the red carpet curse when she stepped out in hot pink dress at the 2019 Dally Ms.

Her barely-there gown featured a number of sheer slashes across her torso which flaunted her bare skin underneath – finished off by a completely exposed left leg.

However, as she posed for a sea of cameras, Monisha’s unique dress – made by Croatian designer Matija Vuica – awkwardly flashed her black G-string.

Photos show the now mother-of-three trying to adjust the crinkled fabric that strategically covered her modesty, but it was too late — the unfortunate incident had already been caught on camera.

Phoebe Burgess also suffered the same misfortune at the 2017 event when her stunning black Alex Perry gown gave way at the front, revealing her lilac undies.

The journalist, who has since split from her ex-NRL player husband Sam Burgess, was posing on the red carpet in the shiny strapless frock when she fell foul of the dreaded wardrobe malfunction.

Unluckily for her, a horde of cameras were on hand, immortalising the incident in the form of photos.

After the furore made headlines, she later addressed the incident on social media, stating the evening was about the “superhuman efforts” of the players – not her fashion fail.
