Dally M 2023 red carpet: Best looks from NRL’s night of nights
One team may have cleaned up at the prestigious Dally M Award – but it was the wife of a Sydney Roosters star who claimed the real victory.
One team may have cleaned up in the prestigious award ceremony, but it was a WAG who stole the show at the Dally M Awards
NRLW players and the partners of NRL players wowed on Wednesday at the Royal Randwick Racecourse in Sydney where the glamorous ceremony was held.
Kaylah Collins, who is married to Sydney Roosters player Lindsay Collins, had all eyes on her on the red carpet.
The renowned publicist stunned in a sheer strapless black corset with a black skirt.
Her skirt, which left a train behind her, had a daring thigh-high split. She finished the look with a statement diamond necklace.
Kaylah told news.com.au the jewellery was from House of K’dor and featured 10 carats of diamonds worth over $100,000.
However she wasn’t the only one to opt for a corset top and thigh high split combination, with NRLW star Botille Vette-Welsh from the West Tigers, going for a similar look.
Her nude corset featured black lace, while the skirt of her dress was a velvet material, and she completed the look with a shoulder back that featured a chain and clear look shoes.
Teammate Jakiya Whitfield also wasn’t one to shy away from the thigh high split trend. Whitfield’s strapless dress featured silver embellishments under the chest, with a plunging detail in the bodice.
Aaliyah Haumono, who is the girlfriend of West Tigers player Jahream Bula, also opted for a daring split in her dress.
Aaliyah, who is the daughter of former NRL player and professional boxer Solomon Haumono, wore a strapless gold dress that had accents of silver on it.
Her dress, which had a corset-style top, was completed with a kitten heel and simply jewellery.
Another woman who opted for a split in her frock was Sharyn O’Brien, the wife of Newcastle Knight’s coach Adam.
Like Kaylah, Sharyn also opted for a sheer corset dress bodice that fanned out into a silk skirt with a split that started above the knee.
She styled the look with her hair over one shoulder, letting in cascade over her dress’s spaghetti straps.
North Queensland Cowboys player China Polata wore a black sparkly dress that fell to her ankles.
The dress, which was a halter neck, featured layering around the chest area and hugged her figure.
She finished the dress with a white handbag and sandal heels.
Brisbane Broncos winger Selwyn Cobbo’s partner Ruby Peyroux opted for a similar style to the NRLW star.
Ruby, whose relationship with the footballer has been kept largely private, wore a bold silver dress that feels like it stepped right out of the 70s with its metallic, figure hugging design that draped over her body.
The stylish ensemble featured a halter neck design with fabric over the chest, much like Polanta’s dress.
Cobbo wore an all black suit, and the two outfits stood next to each other made each outfit pop.
Sarah Togatuki, who is a second rower for the Roosters, brought her father along to the event.
Their beautiful outfits featured tones of white and a shiny purple, with Togatuki forced to wear a moon boot under her dress after having to undergo a syndesmosis repair after a significant high ankle sprain earlier this month.
Leone Lauafia, the fiance of Penrith Panthers centre Stephen Crichton, went for a bold colour at the event, with many others wearing neutrals such as white, gold, black or silver.
Her red dress featured an intricate lace overlay with sheer panelling on the sides, as well as milkmaid sleeves. Crichton took lead from his fiancee, wearing an all black suit with red detailing on it to ensure the couple were co-ordinated.
Isabelle Kelly, who is an NRLW player for the Sydney Roosters, also got the split dress memo.
While not as daring a split as some of the other ensembles, Kelly wore a bright pink dress that featured a split just about the knee.
The strapless dress featured a ruched centre and gloves that went above the elbow.
Kelly paired the bright pink dress with a yellow feather clutch purse.
NRLW woman player Tahlulah Tillett wore a red one shoulder dress with a thigh high split and a cut out on the waist, sticking to the theme of the night.
She paired the simple, yet stylish, dress with a pair of sandals with her hair pulled back.
Ashley Camenzuli, partner of Isaah Yeo from the Penrith Panthers, went big with her ensemble for the night with Yeo having to fan the skirt out behind her on the night.
Ashley, who was styled by Jamie Azzopardi for the awards ceremony, wore a silk red skirt that was reminiscent of a ball gown.
The skirt was paired with a tight wrap around her dress and a tiny gold handbag, with Ashley adding she was “incredibly grateful” to have been styled by Azzopardi.
NRLW St George coach Jamie Soward and his partner Madi co-ordinated their outfits for the evening, with the former player opting for brown suit jacket.
Meanwhile his partner Madi wore a matching brown dress, which featured a halter neck design with a cut out underneath the bust.
The dress, which had a lot of detail, also featured a split in the skirt of the outfit.
Amy, the partner of West Tigers player Apisai Koroisau, wore a floor length dress that was half white and half black, with the former colour featuring a huge bow in the centre of her chest.
Her partner followed suit, wearing a white button up shirt and tuxedo jacket with an oversized black bow tie and black trousers.
The star studded event was also attended by Fox Sports presented Lara Pitt, who wore a green dress with a straight neckline and spaghetti straps.
Lara’s metallic dress captured the light, which she paired with black sandal hells and diamond earrings and jewellery.
She finished the look with a neat bun at the top of her head, meanwhile fellow Fox presenter Jess Yates wore a form-fitting red dress with long sleeves that had ruching around the torso.
Meanwhile St George Illawarra Dragons winger Mathew Feagai and partner Maddie Hanlon opted for a more classic look, with Maddie wearing a classic black dress.
Maddie’s dress featured a daring thigh high split and featured a one shoulder strap on one side with a full length sleeve on the other.
She finished the look with enclosed pointed heels and a bag with a gold chain strap.
Jessica Sergis, who plays for the Roosters, wore a nude dress that hugged her figure and had diamontes studded across it.
Teammate Emma Tonegato also went for a daring design, with the single sleeve with a cut out around the ribcage.
Canberra Raiders star Jarrod Crocker and his wife Brittney Wicks were styled by celebrity stylist Donny Galella.
The Canberra captain wore a velvet green tuxedo by MJ Bale while his wife wore a custom made white mini dress, which featured pearls and ostrich feathers.
The dress was designed by Amanda Tasevski, who has a hand in Felicity Harley, the wife of Sydney Swan’s CEO Thomas, Brownlow dress on Monday.
Tiana Penitani, an NRL W player, was also dressed by Donny for the occasion. She wore a couture blue gown with a statement shoulder piece and train from Amanda Tasevski.
The outfit was finished with Affinity Diamonds Riviera Diamond necklace and matching earrings.
Penrith player Liam Martin’s partner also jumped on the split trend, opting for a classic white strapless dress.
The silk design also featured a train with her frock that trailed behind her, and she paired it with a small handbag and heels.
Meanwhile, Liam wore a classic tuxedo.
Manly Sea Eagles superstar Jake Trbojevic and partner Alix Waddell went for timeless when it came to their outfits on the night, with Jake wearing a classic suit and tie combination.
Meanwhile, Alix wore a floor length midnight blue gown with a halter neck bodice.
Brisbane Broncos player Herbie Farnworth’s guest Lily Pickles wore a fluorescent green dress made of silk. The dress featured daring cut outs with the skirt and chest connected by a thin string of material.
While the event was filled with glitz and glam, there is always a fear when it comes to formal situations that something will go terribly wrong.
Monisha Lew-Fatt, the wife of Canberra Raiders player Jack Wighton, fell foul to the red carpet curse when she stepped out in hot pink dress at the 2019 Dally Ms.
Her barely-there gown featured a number of sheer slashes across her torso which flaunted her bare skin underneath – finished off by a completely exposed left leg.

However, as she posed for a sea of cameras, Monisha’s unique dress – made by Croatian designer Matija Vuica – awkwardly flashed her black G-string.
Photos show the now mother-of-three trying to adjust the crinkled fabric that strategically covered her modesty, but it was too late — the unfortunate incident had already been caught on camera.
Phoebe Burgess also suffered the same misfortune at the 2017 event when her stunning black Alex Perry gown gave way at the front, revealing her lilac undies.
