Rachael Finch on her workout routine and family life

SHE stunned at Spring Racing carnival this year and now the genetically gifted Rachael Finch is in her element as summer rocks around. Here, she tells Sunday Style how she stays in shape.

LIKE moths to a bikini-clad flame, the paparazzi have arrived, lenses at the ready. But it’s not long before they’re noticed by the subject of our lenses, model Rachael Finch.

“I guess it’s the nature of the game, isn’t it?” she sighs. “They don’t take long; you kind of just take it as it comes and keep going.”

Spoiled spirits are soon revived as the self-proclaimed “summer person” muses on her favourite holiday memories as our shoot wraps.

“Waterskiing from dawn ’til dusk at Burdekin Dam [in Queensland],” she says straight away. “This summer, Mich [Finch’s husband, dancer Michael Miziner], [their one-year-old daughter] Violet and I will go up to Townsville for a week and spend it with my family over Christmas.”

Still perfectly fit for the role of Speedo ambassador four years in, Finch gels well with the ideas and morals of the 100-year-old, Australian-born swimwear brand. It makes sense – look at her Instagram (@rachael_finch) and you’ll see she’s heavily involved in all things health and fitness-related.

“I think it’s important to try to combine a nice balance of everything,” says the 26-year-old. “Creativity, love, joy, spirituality, work – everything that makes us who we are. My main priority is to align with brands that are passionate about the same things as I am. It’s a nice relationship.”

Part of that balance involves a love of dancing encouraged by her husband, whom she met when partnered together on Dancing with the Stars in 2010. She heads into his studio to bust a move whenever she gets the chance.

“It’s incredibly fun – and not just from a physical point of view; mentally as well,” she says. “It’s very challenging, I absolutely love it.” So how does the couple juggle a walking-any-minutenow baby girl, a business, endorsements, photo shoots and the occasional reporting gig on the Seven Network?

“I’m lucky because Michael starts work in the evenings and his lessons go quite late, so he can have Violet in the morning,” she says. “We do the baby swap in the middle and I take care of the afternoon. It works out perfectly.”

As busy as she is, having Violet has only cemented Finch’s position on expanding their brood. “It’s definitely made me want more,” she says. “You realise the true meaning of life, and I love the feeling of having a big full house and a full table and a lot of conversation going on.”

Coming up, the model has quite the summer ahead of her – including another stint on breakfast radio, taking over for Fitzy & Wippa’s breakfast lot on Sydney’s Nova 96.9, co-hosting with The Bachelor’s Osher Günsberg. “I think I’ve still got the alarm set at 3am from

last year,” she says. “Plus, I’m working with the Spring Racing Carnival, a couple of other shoots here and there for other brands, and in the New Year the tennis kicks off. It’s all happening!”

So, um, did we mention she was busy?
