Beauty Diary: Huge star spotted going crazy at budget Aussie store
New photos of a famous British singer buying big at a beloved Aussie discount store exposes a truth about even the wealthiest of people.
It’s not often you see celebrities doing regular, and somewhat mundane, things.
But new photos of British singer Rita Ora leaving a Chemist Warehouse store have shown that famous people are just like us.
The 34-year-old was seen leaving the discount pharmacy chain while recently visiting the Gold Coast with her New Zealand filmmaker husband, Taika Waititi.
Of course, there wasn’t just one bag on her arm.
Ora was loaded up with a haul that appeared to fill three plastic bags, proving that even millionaires can’t resist a good bargain.
It’s a very relatable scene that is all too familiar with Australians.
The once “daggy” store has been booming in popularity in recent months, as cash-strapped Aussies turn to the affordable brand amid current cost of living pressures.
Unlike other retailers who are seemingly all raising prices at the moment, Chemist Warehouse continues to sell items way below the recommended retail price (RRP).
It’s an allure that can draw in even the most dedicated of bougie beauty lovers – and is now a pull so irresistible, it is even attracting global superstars.
While it’s impossible to know exactly what is in Rita Ora’s bulging bags, I’ve long been a trawler of those iconic yellow and blue aisles.
So here’s what I buy when I’m completing my very own Chemist Warehouse run.
Cetaphil Healthy Renew Micellar Cleansing Water
Price: $26.99
Micellar water is one of the most integral parts in my skincare routine as I can’t apply my evening serum or moisturiser while there are remnants of my daily products still on my face. This stuff is excellent. It removes all my make-up and SPF effortlessly and doesn’t leave my skin dry or stiff. Love it.
Revlon Illuminance Glow Wand Rose Glow
Price: $17.99
It’s no secret I’m a huge fan of Revlon, especially the brand’s excellent Illuminance range which launched with its Skin-Caring Foundation in 2023 – and the latest addition is no exception. The colour of this blush is perfect in my opinion, it’s just the right amount of pink while also setting with a dewy, glowy finish. It’s blendable too, so if you do go a bit OTT with product, don’t stress – it’s fixable. Best of all, it is a fraction of the price of similar products made by rival brands, which can sell for as much as $60. In this economy, who doesn’t love that?
Nioxin Scalp + Hair Thickening System 4 Trial Kit
More Coverage
Price: $56.99
I’ve got annoyingly fine hair but the Nioxin treatments have really helped put some bounce back into my hair, leaving it feeling thicker and more healthy. It’s definitely not cheap, but this set contains 3 of its clinically and dermatologically products, including the shampoo, conditioner and thickening treatment. It’s one of the best things I’ve ever used on my hair. Definitely worth the splurge.
