‘Controversial’: Skye Wheatley’s new bikini pics roasted by fans
A former reality star turned Gold Coast influencer has left tongues wagging with a new bikini pic featuring an unexpected detail.
Skye Wheatley is being roasted by fans after she shared a string of bikini photos with an unexpected detail that some have described as “a bit much”.
The popular influencer, who rose to online fame after finishing in third place on season 11 of Big Brother Australia, recently revealed her favourite fake tan to her 658,000 Instagram followers.
In the snaps the 30-year-old can be seen wearing a red two-piece swimsuit as, posing on a brown leather couch holding a bottle of “Maximum Express Tanning Mousse”.
But while she praised the Baddest Bod, an Australian beauty brand whose tanning product is formulated to create “the perfect bronze”, there were a few who pointed out she may have gone a little overboard.
“This reminds me of Ross in Friends where he doesn’t turn so gets the full force. Way too dark sorry,” one remarked.
“Twinning with the colour of the couch,” joked another.
As one teased: “The couch has a bra on.”
Others argued it was “too much”, with one even stating it was “controversial” to use so much of the product.
“No, just no,” said one.
“You’ve gone overboard here,” claimed another.
But there were some who loved Wheatley’s fake tan recommendation after she stated she “always” used it.
“What a gorgeous snack,” commented one, as another told Wheatley she looked “gorgeous”.

Chatter surrounding the bikini photos comes a few months after the star underwent “fox eye” surgery, a procedure which uses dissolvable threads to lift and elongate the eye in order to create an upturned look, in Turkey.
She also had a temporal lift, which is a fat transfer into the face, and a blepharoplasty, most commonly referred to as an eyelid lift, as well as undergoing massage treatments for lymphatic drainage while visiting the international cosmetic surgery destination.
After returning back to Australia, fans said Wheatley looked “unrecognisable”, while the star herself described having multiple procedures at once as “traumatic”.
Experts have warned against going abroad for medical procedures after 29 Britons — by far one of the biggest users of Turkey medical tourism — have died in the country since 2019 following cosmetic procedures, according to recent figures.
The UK government advised those wishing to undergo the procedures can find reputable surgeons within its own borders, adding that having any sort of procedure internationally can result in serious complications or even death.
Following her recovery, she returned to social media, posting a slew of content in recent months – including photos from her summer holiday to Thailand.
