‘Obsessed’: Lara Worthington debuts new, shorter haircut at YSL event in Paris

Aussie model Lara Worthington has unveiled an edgy new haircut at a YSL event in Paris – with her followers declaring they’re “obsessed”.

Lara Worthington has surprised her fans with the debut of an edgy new look.

The Australian model took to Instagram to unveil her newly-shortened bob haircut, sharing photos of herself taken at an event for YSL Beauty in Paris this week.

“Shiny hair, shiny lips for @yslbeauty in Paris. #yslloveshine @yslloveshinefactory,” the 36-year-old captioned the post.

Worthington was inundated with comments from her more than 1.7 million followers, who declared they were “obsessed” with the cheek-grazing hairstyle.

The New York-based mum-of-three has been photographed at events across Paris in the past month for the AW24 runway shows, including presentations for Coperni, Miu Miu and Louis Vuitton.

In an interview with Body+Soul in October, Worthington – who shares sons Rocket, Racer and River with her husband, the Australian actor Sam Worthington – said she didn’t feel pressure to keep up with appearances as she ages.

“I always say to my husband, ‘You’re just getting more handsome’,” she said.

“You know, it’s nice to be able to grow old together and not be worried about (appearances).”

Worthington, who last year was the face of Myer’s Summer 23 campaign, said at the time she’d gone through her fair share of “style transformations and evolutions over the years, but I’m much more empowered and sure of my choices now”.

“Motherhood has provided me with a new lens over my life and really put things into perspective; it’s also given me more confidence in myself,” she said.

“Fashion-wise, I used to experiment a lot more – but with three boys, it’s busy. So for day-to-day, I stick to my staple go-to pieces that are functional, easy to wear, and can be dressed up or down.

“I add a slight variation each day with accessories, and depending on what I’ve got on for the day will wear a statement heel to meetings or flats running around with the boys.”
