Myer has landed Australian fashion darling Lara Worthington as the face of its upcoming Summer 23 campaign.

In a first for the renowned model and entrepreneur – who has never partnered with one of the nation’s major department stores – Worthington flew home last week to shoot the campaign alongside Myer ambassadors Cody Simpson and Kris Smith.

The 36-year-old said she was “incredibly excited” to partner with “a cornerstone of Australian fashion … that shares my love for style, quality and creativity”.

“Working with brands that share a deep connection with our country’s heritage and culture such as Myer is a privilege, and it’s been wonderful to collaborate with them,” Worthington said.

“I looked forward to sharing the season’s trends and inspiring customers to have fun and experiment with fashion.”

Worthington, who resides in New York with her husband, the actor Sam Worthington, and their three sons, added that “being back on home soil always brings a sense of comfort and connection that fuels my creativity”.

“The shoot with Myer was so much fun – long days with 4am starts and juggling jet lag, but the results were worth it,” she said.

“The campaign was shot by [photographer] Pierre Toussaint who I have worked with since I was 15 – it’s always great to reconnect and collaborate on projects like this together. There’s something about working with Australians that just has such a warm, fun, welcoming energy.”

Worthington’s partnership with the 123-year-old department store marks a significant chapter in the brand’s history.

“Lara’s sense of style, authenticity, and strong connection with the Australian audience align perfectly with our brand and reflect the effortless sophistication that our summer epitomises.”

Worthington said the pieces in the upcoming campaign “really epitomise the things I love about Australian style – infusing modern looks with a touch of laid-back elegance”.

“[It’s] fashion that is both relevant and timeless at the same time.”

She added that she’s gone through her fair share of “style transformations and evolutions over the years, but I’m much more empowered and sure of my choices now”.

“Motherhood has provided me with a new lens over my life and really put things into perspective, it’s also given me more confidence in myself,” Worthington said.

“Fashion-wise, I used to experiment a lot more – but with three boys it’s busy! So for day-to-day, I stick to my staple go-to pieces that are functional, easy to wear and can be dressed up or down.

“I add a slight variation each day with accessories, and depending on what I’ve got on for the day will wear a statement heel to meetings or flats running around with the boys.”
