Angie Kent has revealed that she got addicted to cosmetic procedures
Angie Kent has revealed why her face has changed, and why she’s unhappy with the drastic results.
Aussie reality star Angie Kent has revealed that she became addicted to cosmetically altering her face, resulting in her looking like a “blow-up doll.”
Kent, 33, explained in a column for Yahoo that after seeing a practitioner who said she looked tired, she became obsessed with changing her face.
“This is when my love for cosmetic procedures went from a safe little freshen up to my whole face changing in a matter of a year,” she wrote.
Kent said that the process of getting frequently injected was a rigorous one and it took a toll on her.
“The pain I went through that year physically from all the needles, but also mentally from seeing my face change so dramatically was so detrimental, not to mention sending the wrong message to so many women who had been following me since I was in my mid-twenties. It is ok to grow up and age. I had to lie. I was so ashamed of myself,” she wrote.
Kent said that after a year, she realised what she was doing to her face and is now in her healing girl era.
“I totally still stan for a cheeky bit of filler and Botox, do not get me wrong there. But make sure you trust your practitioner, and they know what your beautiful, unique feature is/are,” she advised.
The reality star has over 200,000 Instagram followers and Australia fell in love with her when she was sitting on the lounge commenting on television shows on Gogglebox.
From there, she starred on 10’s The Bachelorette and has gone on to appear on Seven’s Dancing With The Stars.
She’s always been candid about the pressures of being famous as a woman and the lengths she’s undergone to look camera ready.
In 2020, she famously revealed she spent over $20,000 a year on beauty treatments and made no apologies for it.
“It does cost a lot, so do what’s best for your face rather than copying a certain celebrity or doing it just because everyone else is doing it,” she told Body&Soul.
