When influencers show off their impossibly perfect mansions or beachfront apartments, there’s a good chance a professional organiser is their behind-the-scenes secret.

Just one year on from launching her business, Graceful Guidance, Renee Reader has carved a niche in creating Insta-worthy spaces for reality TV stars, fitness trainers and fashion models – including one client with an entire room dedicated to her collection of designer activewear.

Ms Reader’s client list includes Married At First Sight star Ella Ding, celebrity trainer Rachel Dillon, fashion label owners Lucy Jackson and Tarsha Whitmore, DJ Will Sparks and runway model Isabelle Mathers.

Ms Reader creates boutique-style wardrobes for her high-profile clients

She has built an online following of about 30,000, sharing aesthetic storage solutions for items ranging from kitchen spices to luxury bags.

One viral hack on how to neatly fold a pair of jeans was recently shared by Hollywood heavyweight, Drew Barrymore.

Dillon, founder of Move With Us fitness app and CSB activewear, engaged Ms Reader after purchasing a stunning $7.3m Mermaid Waters mansion with husband and fellow entrepreneur, Tobi Pearce.

Ms Reader also completed a full home edit for Mathers, colour-co-ordinating her huge wardrobe and transforming a spare bedroom in her newly built luxury apartment into an additional closet just for her gym wear.

And she was recently tasked with unpacking a Moroccan-style mansion at Burleigh Heads, purchased for a whopping $11m by fitness coach, Adam Sullivan.

Ms Reader said working with high-profile clients required a discretionary approach.

“I’ll be honest, I’ve come across a lot of interesting and funny items in my clients’ homes, some that you’d never even guess or think of.

“As my clients’ trust is my top priority, I’m not going to share what these are, but let’s just say I don’t think you’d ever even think of it,” she said.

Graceful Guidance’s “luxury home organisation” service starts from $100 an hour, but her top rule is one anyone can follow.

“I say to my clients, the less stuff you have the easier it is to not only organise your home, but to keep it organised,” Ms Reader said.

“And if an item doesn’t have a home, then it is your indication that you have too much stuff for the space and that is when I’ll implement the ‘one in one out’ rule: if something if coming in, then something needs to go out.”

The industry has boomed post-pandemic, both in demand for its services and people training to become organisers themselves, according to Institute of Professional Organisers CEO Sarah Cottman.

But it is not only the domain of social media stars, with busy families valuing an organised home as a way to reclaim personal hours.

“We offer tailored solutions that bring a sense of order and calm, ultimately reducing stress and increasing efficiency in our clients’ day-to-day lives,” Ms Reader said.

“As more people seek a balance between their busy schedules and personal spaces, professional organisation becomes a way to create that.”

RENEE READER’S TOP TIPS FOR AN ORGANISED HOME

1. Declutter regularly: Make it a habit to go through your items and remove what’s no longer needed. “My rule of thumb is if you haven’t used, worn, or needed something for 12-plus months, then it needs to go.”

2. Assign everything a home: Ensure every item has a dedicated space, making it easy to find and put away. “The best way to do this is to categorise, contain, and maintain with labels.”

3. Maintain daily routines: Small actions, like tidying up for 10 minutes a day, can prevent mess from building up over time.

4. Use storage solutions that work for you: Whether it’s baskets, labelled containers, or drawer dividers, choose tools that suit your lifestyle and make organisation easier.
