The top 10 Sydney suburbs where first homebuyers are getting into the market have been revealed, with some newcomers to the list.
Southern Sydney’s Arncliffe and inner-city suburb of Waterloo have appeared on the list for the first time in 2023, recording some of the highest first homebuyer sales between April and June, according to InfoTrack’s quarterly property market update.
InfoTrack’s head of property Australia Lee Bailie said the update showed Sydney’s northwestern, western, and southwestern suburbs continuing to dominate the list for first home buyers.

However he said the postcode 2205, which includes Arncliffe, Turrella, and Wolli Creek, came in at number six.
“The growth in interest in this suburb has been quite extraordinary,” he said.
“There were nearly four times the number of sales in the month of June compared to January.
“Around 94 per cent of all properties listed for this postcode were within the $500,000
to $1 million pricing bracket, with properties between $600,000 and $700,000 the most popular.”

Waterloo/Zetland snuck in at number 10 for the most popular suburb.
“This postcode has seen a steady and gradual increase month-to-month since the start of
the year, with units the most popular type of property purchased,” Mr Bailie said.
“Almost three-quarters of all homes listed were within the $500,000 to $1 million price
range, and strata owner occupied properties represented 92 per cent of all properties sold in this postcode.”
Mr Bailie said many of the top suburbs also featured in last quarter’s report.
“The northwestern postcodes of 2765 and 2155, which include Marsden Park and Kellyville
were the top two locations, while Westmead, Liverpool, Schofields and Campbelltown were
among other popular choices for this buying cohort,” he said.
