Man discovers secret room in his house after noticing a suspicious wobbly wall in his pantry

Logan Hunter noticed something was not right with his pantry wall. He plied it open and uncovered a whole part of his home he never knew about.

Man discovers ‘hidden room’ in his house

A suspiciously wobbly back wall inside a pantry has led a man to uncover something in his house he never thought possible.

Behind the flimsy piece of plywood in Logan Hunter’s kitchen, he discovered an unnerving set of sturdy steps leading into a formerly undiscovered part of his home.

Mr Hunter, from the United States, documented his discovery in a now-viral TikTok video late last month, attracting the eyes of almost 700,000 people.

“I literally think I just discovered a hidden room in my apartment,” he told viewers.

“I realised that this wall is really wobbly [and] there's nothing behind it. So I’m going to take it apart and see what we can find.”

Mr Hunter filmed as he removed a light switch cap and a piece of wood fixing the wall to its frame, swiftly realising how poorly the plywood had been installed.

He then peeled back part of the wall to reveal the set of steps leading towards the apartment’s ceiling.

Mr Hunter left viewers distressed by not exposing what was at the top of the stairs, saying he was in too much of a rush to get to work so didn’t have time.

He later uploaded another video revealing what was at the top of the stairs, which he said were “kind of nice and sturdier than I thought they’d be”.

As he made his way further up, there was nothing to see other than huge piles of dust.

When he arrived at the top however, he discovered what he described a “cute room”.

It was a decent sized, completely empty space with two boarded up windows, with nothing but an old dusty bandana and a bucket of woodchips on the floor.

“Why would they have this closed off? You can even stand up. This is such a cute room,” he said.

Mr Hunter said it was “so cool” and expressed desire to make the space liveable.

Hundreds of people responded to the view agreeing it was a fun discovery, but warned Mr Hunter of potential dangers like asbestos or unstable flooring.

“The landlord probably didn’t want to invest in making it liveable so closed it off,” one person wrote in a comment.

“Be super careful. It could be closed off due to lead paint, asbestos insulation, or other serious toxins and health hazards,” another said.

Dozens of others encouraged Mr Hunter to film a series of videos showing himself renovating the area to make it a nice living space.
