Designed by architect Brian Meyerson, work began on the Millers' house in 2001, but the couple and their three children didn't move in until 2003.

Mr Meyerson said he was given very specific criteria when designing the fashion family's home.

"Ian's a car enthusiast and Sara's a fitness fanatic," he says. "Apart from all the other things a luxury home needs these things, for the Millers, are critical."

"Living in this house has been wonderful," Mr Miller said.

"Total privacy and serenity were what we wanted when we bought the property. Each day is unique. The moods of the ocean, the wonderful sun rises, the passing of ships, dolphins and whales give the home a real excitement. There is always a cooling breeze, yet the living area is bathed in sunlight," Mr Miller said.

"The lap pool is gorgeous," Mrs Miller said. "It feels like you are swimming beside the ocean."

The Millers said they have entertained up to 80 people at the house.
