The incredible get-away-from-it-all multi-million dollar Wyoming ranch Kanye West bought just two years ago appears to be the latest casualty of his high-profile divorce.
The music star has had to offload the 3800 acre property known as Monster Lake, the New York Post reports, which he bought in 2019 for US$8 million (A$10.79m), in the wake of his split with Kim Kardashian.
Monster Lake was the first property West bought in the mid west US state and had planned to move their full time. A plan that has caused a rift in his relationship with Kardashian who wasn’t keen on the move.
“We love Wyoming, it’s always been such an amazing place,” Kim said not long after the purchase of the ranch.
“My husband did just buy a ranch there, and his dream and his vision is to move there.”
West later bought a second ranch, spanning over 6,700 acres for US$14.5m.
The ranch has eight properties for lodging, a restaurant, an event centre, a lake, a go-kart track and was where Kanye recorded his ninth studio album Jesus is King.
It also boasts a series of barns and holding pens for horses and cattle.
Not long after buying the ranch, West advised his Twitter followers on the merits in property ownership and investment.
“We have to evolve,” he wrote.
“Buy property. Buy land.”
Kardashian filed for divorce in February but their breakup has not yet been finalised.
Kim made fun of the situation and the divorce in a recent guest host spot on late-night comedy show Saturday Night Live, saying she broke up with West because of his ‘personality”.
