Builder Danny Aron bought an old house for $7.5m in 2021 and put two new semis in its place — one of them sold at auction last night for an incredible price.

The residence at 86B Bellevue Rd, Bellevue Hill fetched $8.85m.

“It’s the highest price for a semi in Bellevue Rd,” says Gavin Rubinstein, the TRG founder, who shared the listing with partner agent Evan Chung.

“The initial guide was $7m.

“We had six registered, with five active at Damien Cooley’s auction rooms and it was very strong bidding ... it just goes to show what can happen when you have a quality build in a good location.”

Aron, who owns Cumberland Building, knew how to make the most of the 653sqm block, with each of the four-level semis being built to the highest standard with spectacular views towards the city skyline, Harbour Bridge and Opera House.

One of the semis will be retained by his family, with the other offered to the market.
