Amid news of Ray Hadley’s new $9 million radio contract, the salaries of other top-tier stars paid by the Nine Network have been leaked.
Ray Hadley’s $9 million contract extension with Nine Radio’s 2GB makes him the network’s highest paid talent.
The Australian reports the deal, which will see Hadley, 68, remain in the morning show hot seat until the end of 2026, means the radio host pockets around $3.5 million annually, maintaining his position as Nine’s most bankable star.
With news of Hadley’s new contract, Media Diary revealed what the network’s other top-tier talents were earning in comparison.
After Hadley, comedian Hamish Blake earns around $2 million per year for his hosting gig on Lego Masters.
Coming in with salaries at $1.5 million are the likes of Today host Karl Stefanovic, A Current Affair host Allison Langdon, 2GB breakfast host Ben Fordham and The Block host Scott Cam.
Those earning between $1 million and $1.2 million reportedly include veteran journalist Liz Hayes, The Hundred host Andy Lee, 3AW presenter Neil Mitchell and 3AW breakfast host Ross Stevenson.
Evening bulletin newsreader Peter Overton is said to make around $900,000 to $1 million, while new Today co-host Sarah Abo and reality show host Sophie Monk are each said to net around $800,000.
TV networks don’t disclose what they pay their drawcard talent, though salaries are often leaked when stars renegotiate their contracts.
Lisa Wilkinson reportedly signed a $2 million per year contract with Ten to co-host The Project, after leaving the Nine Network in 2017.
Meanwhile, Sonia Kruger is said to have signed a $1.3 million contract with Seven after defecting from Nine in 2019.
More recently, Chris Brown jumped ship from Ten to Seven, reportedly signing a contract worth $1 million annually.
