Kyle Sandilands reveals cheeky text from Karl Stefanovic ahead of wedding to Tegan Kynaston
Today show host Karl Stefanovic has sent a playful text to Kyle Sandilands just two days out from the radio host’s lavish nuptials.
Kyle Sandilands is not due to marry Tegan Kynaston until Saturday, so technically he is still a single man.
Given this, his best mate Karl Stefanovic proceeded to shoot his shot in an eleventh-hour attempt to steal him away from his fiancée and continue their bromance.
On The Kyle & Jackie O Show this morning, Sandilands revealed the Today show host sent him a playful text asking him to reconsider getting married to Kynaston.
‘Two days to go until the wedding. I want you to know there is still time for us, Kyle, I love you!” the text read, which Sandilands read on air.
He turned to his co-host, Jackie “O” Hnderson, to help him decipher Stefanovic’s text, which Sandilands said sounds a little “gay”.
“He’s making out we’re a little gay or something, I’m not sure. Do I take that serious? Hard to tell with Karl sometimes,” Sandilands wondered.
“I think it’s pretty black and white there,” Henderson replied, to which he joked: “He’s gay!”
Playful banter aside, Stefanovic and his wife, Jasmine Yarbrough, will be attending the lavish wedding this weekend, along with fellow celebrities Guy and Jules Sebastian and singer Samantha Jade.
Earlier this week, in a radio game called ‘Higher or Lower’, where listeners called in to guess how much each element of the wedding cost, Sandilands let slip exact prices of his nuptials.
Among the big ticket expenses he revealed were the floral arrangements set to cost a whopping $150,000, the wedding cake at $9400, entertainment at $100 000, and bridal party suits at over $15,000 – and it was all because he did not realise a wedding planner and a wedding stylist were two different things.
“I made the mistake of telling those ladies, who said, ‘OK, what budget are we dealing with?’, that there was no budget,” he recalled. “After they left, Tegan goes, ‘Why on earth did you say there’s no budget?’ You know what she’s like, she’s not a frivolous spender. She doesn’t like waste.”
Still, it’s all adding up. In another broadcast last week, Sandilands said: “The bills were all coming in. They’re fine, they’re manageable. There’s many pages of things, and I’m glancing through and I’m going to the end, like, ‘What’s the cost of this thing?’”
“There’s still a few things to add, but I did notice the flowers are quite expensive: $150,000 for flowers. So we’re already up to $250,000 and we’ve only got flowers and food.”
The wedding extravaganza is said to total an eye-watering $1 million.
