Jackie O’s neighbours trash her dream home, ridicule her show
The $13 million dream home construction has been labelled an eyesore - and Jackie O Henderson’s neighbours have had enough.
Well-heeled neighbours in an exclusive beachside suburb where the average house price is over $4 million are outraged over an A-lister’s ongoing renovations as she creates her dream mansion.
Construction is underway at Jackie O Henderson’s $13.25 million oceanfront home overlooking Gordon’s Bay, in Sydney’s eastern suburbs, which she bought in March 2023.
The $5 million renovation to the three-storey home with views of the world-famous Wedding Cake Island and Gordon’s Bay was approved by council on December 5, 2024.

But neighbours living close to the radio megastar have told news.com.au they are sick of the ongoing noise and disruption.
Just last week, Jackie O posted pictures of the completely flattened site, which will make way for her new home, boasting a central courtyard plus pool, double garage, and a wellness area.

Locals living on the small cul-de-sac, which has just five homes and steps down to Gordon’s Bay, said they’ve had to endure “horrendous noise” from the demolition of the property.
“This area is notorious for construction,” neighbour Lynn, who has been living on the street since 1990, told news.com.au as she pointed out another site under construction right behind her in Battery Street.
“It’s pointless complaining to the council, I’ve never had success trying to get any concerns through to them. They don’t care.”
The once quiet street that boasted some of the best views in Sydney has now been plagued by increased traffic, big trucks, utes and a site office, which is located in the cul-de-sac.
Referring to the allocated parking spots on the street, Lynn said: “They (tradesmen) have no consideration for the white lines that have been painted outside my house.
“I don’t want to have to go to them every time I want to get out of my driveway.”
When news.com.au visited the street, a large ute was parked outside of her home with its tray encroaching on her driveway.
A tradie working on the site said construction wouldn’t be finished until June 2026 after commencing in December last year.
“It’s only going to get worse,” Lynn said.
When asked if she listened to her new A-list neighbour’s radio show she said: “God no. They’re disgusting.
“I can’t imagine what kind of person she is with all of her potty humour.”
According to Randwick City Council’s Development Application (DA) report, Jackie O proposed a complete “demolition of existing structures and construction of a 3-storey dwelling house with a double garage, in-ground swimming pool, ancillary and landscaping works”.
The report also revealed that three neighbours submitted concerns about the building after being notified of the proposal.
Locals in neighbouring properties expressed their fears about the obliteration of “the views of the Clovelly ‘Bombie’” - referring to the famous exposed reef break that produces “rare and inconsistent surf”.
They were also concerned the project would “partially obscure views of Wedding Cake Island from first floor living spaces”.
A resident who submitted a concern to council over fears of an impacted view told news.com.au, “if it’s approved, it’s approved.”
Composite images from the DA report show the extent to which the new property will impact the views of neighbouring houses.
Photos taken of the site showed a large black timber wall surrounding the property with signs plastered all over - one stating, “DANGER: Deep excavation.”
Two tradies were seen on the site that is littered with bricks, rubble and dirt.
A bright red portable toilet sits in the exact eyeline of the neighbour’s window.
The site foreman told news.com.au that he would “prefer no pictures were taken” as it’s “Jackie O’s house”.
He assured that despite complaints from neighbours, the company has obtained all the necessary permits, including a 24-hour hoarding permit, which is needed to “erect a temporary structure on a public area for construction”.
The “temporary structure” refers to the portable shed that has been put up at the end of the street.
Sitting directly in front of neighbouring houses, the shed - labelled an “eyesore” by a neighbour - is used by tradesmen and visitors to check-in to the site, as well as a place to have lunch out of the sun.
“It can’t go anywhere else,” he said.
The 492 square-metre home was offloaded by JP Morgan Chase managing director Kierin Deeming and his wife Justine Hall.
Jackie O’s new digs will offer her a great amount of privacy, something she lacked at her former address in ritzy Woollahra.

She has trusted award-winning architect Madeleine Blanchfield with curating the new space.
