Sarah Harris hits back at Sam Pang’s over ‘Studio 10’ jokes

Sam Pang’s been mocking Studio 10 all year on Have You Been Paying Attention? And Sarah Harris is so sick of it, she’s finally hit back.

Sarah Harris has hit back at Sam Pang for his repeated attacks on Studio 10 and has challenged the radio star to come on the show to face the music.

The Nova star has relentlessly mocked the Network Ten morning program all year during his appearances on Have You Been Paying Attention?

Pang’s best sledge came just a few weeks ago when Studio 10 co-host Denise Scott was also a panellist on HYBPA.

Tom Gleisner posed the question: “Good news for the giant Australian cuttlefish this week. What’s happened?”

Tony Martin guessed: “It’s joining the cast of Studio 10?” before Pang buzzed in and added, “Got a bit too much life in it for that, I would have thought”.

Boom.

Speaking to news.com.au to promote The Smith Family’s annual Christmas Appeal to help thousands of disadvantaged children with their schooling, Sarah Harris said she was aware of Pang’s continual jokes about the show she’s hosted since 2013.

“I speak on behalf of all of the hosts on Studio 10 when I say I think it’s quite flattering that HYBPA turns to us for so much material,” Harris said.

“We are happy to help out their little show, just because they rate less than ten times what we do,” she joked. “It’s a nice little nod that they’re watching … and hopefully they’re all buying vacuum cleaners so we can stay on TV.”

While Harris told news.com.au she finds Pang extremely funny, she did suggest he might want to ease up on the constant Studio 10 gags when HYBPA resumes next year.

“In five years’ time Sam Pang might be looking for a job,” she said. “Jono Coleman’s not going to be around forever and I think Sam would be able to sell a ChillO with great ease.”

Harris is very keen to know if Pang would be brave enough to be a guest on the show he’s mocked with such glee all year.

“When I was on Tom Gleeson’s Hard Chat, I was more than willing to take it and then Tom Gleeson came on Studio 10 and we threw it right back at him,” Harris said. “I’d like to do the same with Sam. So Sam, want to come on our show and dance?”

As mentioned, Harris was speaking to news.com.au in her role as an ambassador for The Smith Family’s annual Christmas Appeal.

“We’ve got more than one million young people growing up in poverty in Australia and the great thing about The Smith Family is that it raises money to make sure kids get a great education,” Harris said.

“Even though we have a free public education system here in Australia, schooling really isn’t free. There are text books and uniforms and excursions and all that other stuff that when you’re a family struggling to put food on the table, that’s the stuff that is missed. That’s where The Smith Family steps in and bridges the gap. It levels the playing field, essentially.

“Go to the website,” she encouraged. “You can make a one-off donation, you can send a virtual gift like a book or toys for Christmas … But really, we need your money and we need your help to help these kids.”
